His lab was super easy! Lecture was a bit more difficult, but he gives SO MUCH bonus! I averaged a 74% on exams and still made a 93% in the class. Definitely a great class to get started in. Use the website easynotecards to study for exams. He pulls his questions straight from the user zcole2000

His lectures were great and he throws humor into the lectures! You cover a LOT of material and you need to do a Tun of studying outside of class! His test are very difficult and do not seem to cover much of the material you cover in class! If you take advantage of the extra credit opportunities you will pass the class! Study hard for each exam!

His test are VERY lecture based. It was very hard to be interested in the lecture because he is very monotoned. Although he does give bonus, his test are INCREDIBLY hard. I studied tons and failed both exams I had. I had to end up dropping this course. When I went in to talk to him, I felt as if I didn't get a whole lot of help BUT he is very nice.

I had Dr. O'Neal for both Principles of Biology lab and lecture. He's very thorough when in lectures and in lab. Dr. O'Neal is very helpful and is open to answering any questions you may have. There's a lot of information on the exams, but just read the book and go over the notes. He gives a lot of extra credit as well, so take advantage of that.

His class is 100% based on lecture, it is best to attend class although you don't have to. His tests are a little rough but I find it best to study the MasteringBio quizzes beforehand. Just study and attend lecture and you will do fine! You use MasteringBio but not the hard copy textbook. He gives lots of extra credit.

Had him for POB1 and he's a really caring guy, however his tests are EXTREMELY lecture based. First test average was a 65. He doesn't curve his tests but offers A LOT of bonus opportunities. Lectures are a bit monotone and he lectures from start to finish even if he's not actually lecturing on chapters.

He is a great guy and really cares about the students! Do not be afraid to ask questions, he will always do his best to help! His lectures are very informative and much of the exam material can be found there. However, he is verrrrry monotone. Do not take him if you always fall asleep during class. I'll start off by saying I absolutely LOVE biology! The first day of lecture was alright, but from there was a downhill experience. As much as the topics interest me, I always find myself falling asleep. He doesn't relate our topics to real world experiences- I don't walk around relating his lectures to every day life. I would not take him again.

Had him for lab. He spends a lot of time explaining, which makes it hard to finish the experiment later. He comes off as arrogant, but he likes to help. Quizzes are online and usually have trick questions, so they can be tough. He's very picky when grading graphs. His lab hurt my overall bio grade. He's not bad, but there are better instructors.

He was okay, had him for lab, very boring. Goes over minute details wayy too much. Could have done the 2 hr lab in 30 minutes usually. Really easy though. I suggest if you can stay awake, it brought up my BioConcepts grade. Lab report required 30 minutes outside of class sometimes, but that was the only 'homework'

His lecture is EXTREMELY boring. He has a monotone voice that makes you want to fall asleep. His tests are multiple choice and are pretty hard. The average for the second test was a D. The good thing is you get extra credit for attendance and he assigns the most missed questions on each test as bonus points.

I had him for lab and would highly recommend him. His lab flows as quick it can for the material thats covered and he'll help you if you need it. Just show up, do the work and turn it in. His lab grade helped raise my overall BIO grade.

Dr. O'neal is a good teacher. Although he does teach from a power point and it can be quite boring, he is still good. He is available to answer any questions you may have. I did not find his class to be too hard. It was one of my easier classes that semester.
