If you need an easy humanities class, this is it. Don't skip because if you miss more than 3 class your grade starts to drop. Tests are very easy, just pay attention in class and during the review and you're set. Listening portion isn't too bad as long as you listen to the pieces a few times. You have a concert paper too but it's really easy.

Easily the most painfully boring class I have ever taken in my entire life. Easy, albeit, but terribly terribly boring. You only need to take notes the class before the test. If possible, find another professor for this class but off not, he will do. Just prepare to snooze.

Surprisingly, I found the course to be tough. For a gen ed class A LOT of studying went into it before a tests. Tests would be on six or seven chapters and the listening portions were a failure each time. If you can take a different Gen Ed I'd recommend it. He's a nice enough guy. Impatient but passionate about music.

This class was really easy and interesting. Prof. Rosenberg brings in lots of guest musicians and sometimes plays music himself. He's very talented and you can tell how passionate he is about it. Go to class, study for the tests, and skim the book once in a while and you'll do fine.

His class is rather boring. Intro to Music Appreciation cannot get much more fun. He takes attendance everyday, and only has 4 tests. He also requires you to attend 2 concerts. Thankfully, he never assigned daily homework, and he sometimes forgot about attendance. Pretty basic class, just boring. He is extremely enthusiastic about music though!

I think he's one of the best Cofc prof to teach music. He is the head of the music dept During classes, you can tell he is very passionate about what he does and teaches, which is awesome. Brings in guest performers, plays videos,& plays some instruments. His test are medium; just pay attention in class and do your listening. Take him :)

He's definitely an awesome professor. He really appreciates a student who tries in class and attends class regularly. The exams are easy if you do you readings and listen in class.

Prof Rosenberg is the man. He is the chair of the Music Dept, and you can tell that he really loves what he does and does a great job relaying that passion to his students. He brings in several musicians to perform in class, plays lots of youtube videos, and even plays some instruments for you. I loved his class.

Rosenberg was amazing! He's a bit a quirk and likes to talk about his days he spent studying in Europe, yet he is very passionate about music and wonderful on so many instruments. If you love music and want to learn about so many different types of music (mostly romantic and classical) then absolutely take him!

You have to read the book and take good notes. His test are all multiple choice and listening. They can be tricky. You are required to go to 2 concerts but they're free and you just have to turn the programs in. He loves music but doesn't want any extra noise in his class. He can sometimes be rude.

Rosenberg is so talented and passionate about music but not a huge people person. Take this as your first class in the AM; awesome to transition from sleep to school with an easy class where you listen to music the whole time. easy multiple choice tests, required attendance, i would recommend.

His attendance is mandatory, you can't miss more than 3, or he'll take off points. You need to see 2 concerts outside of class. No final, just listen to 10 songs and tell what it is. His tests are multiple choice, and are both easy and hard. Need to take notes in class, and read the book.

He is a nice guy, but his tests can be tricky! You cannot miss more than 3 classes or he takes off points of your final grade. You definitely need to take good notes and you will need the book! You have to attend at least 2 concerts, but all you have to do is attend them and get your program stamped. You dont have to write any papers.

Very nice, any background in music whatsoever should result in a good grade. He truly wants everybody to pass the class. Requires attendance at monday night concerts which aren't that bad. All tests questions come straight from the book or from what he said in class. Take good notes to study from and you'll be fine. Easy A.

Easy A: come to class, read the book. You don't really have to pay attention as 99% of the test material comes straight from the book. Tests are all multiple choice, I normally finished in about 20 minutes. Makes an interesting subject really boring and is way too into Renaissance music. But again, easy A.

I think the only reason majority of students take this is for humanities.. so why is he so demanding? I don't have the time to go to 4 concerts (2 of which are CSO), I have my major to focus on. He's very enthusiastic about music, and I guess wants everyone to love it as much as he. Hard tests! Lowered the grade scale to 85-100 is A, though...

I went into the class hoping for a relatively easy grade in an interesting class, but his tests are so detailed that just learning the information in general wasn't really enough for my grades to reflect my interest. Nice man, and very interesting sometimes, but other times I just wanted to fall asleep.

If you love music, don't set foot in the music department. It's hard having a music teacher who thinks he or she is the star and above you.
