Comment:
Class time is always used towards giving mundane lectures. Not many in-class activities. When the due dates of projects come around, panic arises as the directions for the assignment are absolutely cryptic.

Sadly you're obligated to take a class with him, which isn't entirely bad, as long as you already know what you're doing, and you STAY on his good side.He likes to teach early, and his group project is a nightmare, just like his lengthy lectures.

Extremely boring, loved to go off on random tangents about things that had nothing to do with the class

He's pretty good in 204, but by the time you get to compilers, he's quit the act. No one can follow him in class, and his workload is a nice preparation for the marines.

Probably the best prof in the Computer Science department. His tests and homework are a little harder than average, but doable. Lectures are occasionally very boring, but Vegdahl does do a good job of explaining things. Also takes a keen interest in students personally. Would recommend.

Already took the class in hih school basically. Knew alot of material already. Veg is great fun, humorous, has many demos and examples, and involves class in problem solving. The printouts were a godsend, nush better than taking notes ;3

Gives printouts of his powerpoint lectures so you can basically sleep through class and not miss a thing. Nice guy and loves to help, but personally, power points put me to sleep all the time. He does put humor in the lecture tho. Fun homework.

LOTS OF WORK!! Often skirts around the information you need if you ask for help with homework. Covers a ton of material, good for 204, tough for 411 b/c almost every problem you see is new. Trickster on tests. Forces you to study and learn a lot though.

Vegdahl's java class is pretty easy. I skated through with min effort and got a B. Only thing that is difficult is that he creates the project space for you, so when you get to another java class you have to catch up to learn that part yourself.

Bare minimum effort gets a B, more work required to get an A. Gave out lecture notes before class so you could pay attention to the lecture without taking notes. That was extremely helpful and I wish all my profs did it.
