Gil is one of the best teachers I have ever had at PSU. One thing that I love about Gil is how much he remembers about you. I took interpersonal with Gil a year ago and he still remembers things about me to this day and makes conversation from it. It is awesome how much he truly cares about his students and wants to see them succeed. GIL ROCKS!!

He is like a dad! He is hilarious and makes you want to show up for class. I have had multiple classes with him and he is the only professor that makes night classes bearable! I would highly recommend taking literally any class with him!

Gil's classes are by far some of the most rewarding course I have ever taken. They require work. If you're looking to breeze by and just get by, his courses are not for you but if you care about what you are learning, you will do fine! It is a lot of reading but if you read you'll pass the test very easily. I highly recommend a Gil class.

Honestly, Gil isn't going to cookie-cut it for you. His classes, especially Small Group, will require you to work, but in all honesty, his classes are so rewarding and he is an amazing professor. If you're not scared to put in the work, he is exceptional.

Gil is a great guy and really wants you to succeed. There is consistent homework in the beginning but it is super easy to do and he really just wants to see that you skimmed the chapters. He lets you use the book and your homework/notes on the tests! If you care and try you will get an A.

I took Gil's speech course over the summer. I went into this class dreading public speaking. After taking this class, speech became one of my favorite general education courses I took at PSU. Gil manages to make speech fun!

Gil is one of the best teachers I've ever had. His enthusiasm is infectious; his expectations for the class are very clear and grading is fair. He fosters an environment where anyone can feel comfortable speaking, and he will help with anyone. I would recommend him to anyone; his classes are fun and you learn a lot.

RECOMMEND! Great guy, great teacher. He actually makes you read outside of class, and do work, but it's a great class. His focus is really to make you learn, and he's not a jerk about it. Will help any way he can.

Gil is a wonderful teacher. He explains things well and in a fun way. He remembers student's names. Class is always interesting and fun and the assignments are not hard. Tests are open book open note. If you show up to class and take notes you'll be just fine. I've gotten A's on all tests.

I have had Gil Cooper for two classes now and he is absolutely the best teacher in the world. I was fortunate to have him for my intro to speech class. He actually motivated me to talk to more people. He is simply magnificient. Take him for any class possible!

Very down-to-earth. Class can be challenging, but Gil motivates everyone to do their best. He tells you what he wants and lets you do the rest. If you follow what his guides say, the class is easy. Tests aren't hard since he lets you correct them. Also, he grades easy so just do your work and you should be alright. Overall, great teacher.

Pompous A**. Thinks he is A LOT funnier than he really is, mostly just cheesy jokes that stir a lot of eye rolling and heavy sighs. Some people do laugh, mostly the ones in the front 2 or 3 rows, but i think they are under unfair pressure...kudos on how simple the class is tho.
