He's a funny guy and of course he knows his stuff. However, his communication with the class was honestly terrible. Never replied to emails, eventually gave up. We had a 50 point immersion project that was never once brought up in class by him (the project itself seemed like there were a lot of unnecessary aspects to it). The language was still fun

For ASL 1, he starts off really slow which is nice since you're learning a new language but he picks up VERY quickly. He can be confusing during lectures and quizzes so be sure to ask as many questions as you can. He makes you laugh at his sarcasm when teaching about Deaf culture. Make sure you read EVERYTHING in the text. It's your lifeline.

I am upset that I had him for ASL1 and he was pretty good and did not used Blackboard. We missed many classes but I felt that we were still able to be conversant in ASL. ASL2 was terrible. He started using BB and could not keep the dates straight. I lost many points bc he would not accept them any longer. Nice guy but I feel he dropped the ball.

Horrible. The class itself wasn't bad. But he couldn't keep his due dates straight. It was always corrtions to the due dates, corrections to his corretions absoultly horrible.

I somehow had Vic for ASL 1 - 5 during my years at Kent. Twice I was registered for another teacher and then they switched sections. He was an amazing teacher. He's very funny and he knows how to make class appealing. He was helpful when I went outside of class for help. He's one of my two favorite teachers from my undergrad.

wonderful prof. he is challenging but willing to help. in class practices for homework & tests are wonderful if you take advantage of the opportunities he is giving you. great sense of humor. need to do out of class social interactions. asl dept does not make assignments clear...stay a step ahead to make sure you understand & don't procrastinate!

I haven't finished the semester yet, but he is extremely helpful, and his point is always clear. He's kind of laid back, and makes funny jokes. If you come to class regularly, and do your work, this class is EASY. Out of all of my past ASL profs, he's one of my top two favorites. He's only critical of your signing, when you SIGN WRONG!

Someone needs to teach this guy objectivity (grading especially). A very good prof never the less. Class is always interesting. But he's too busy, and too bias.

Amazing professor. Helps with anything you ask him to. Is able to have a good laugh and makes class fun. Harsh grader but if you pay attention, attend class, and practice it is easy. A lot of homework thrown fast but not a lot in the end. Overall fun class and would recommend for any ASL class.

Definately plays favorites. I had friends who did the same on assignments as me and they got C's and I got an A. Class is very unorganized and the book isnt used whatsoever. The final crushed me. . .but magically I still got an A

His class is fun and he's a really cool guy, but he grades extremely harsh, and a little unfair. Some of us used signs straight from the dictionary in the ASL lab or other Kent ASL professors and they were still counted wrong. I went in knowing all the material from a previous class at another school and still couldn't get an A.

How do I start with him? He's a very good teacher, and he's very helpful. He loves what he does- but a little too much. He got mad at me for not supporting the Gallaudet protests. He was an extremely harsh grader. He was a terrible grader! The girl next to me put the same answers and got an A, and I got an F. And I tutored these people! Eh..
