Comment:

Probably the best professor I've had at UConn. He makes class extremely interesting because he is so passionate about the material. Tells you what will be on the test but definitely need to know the material. Other than that just two short papers, and some short online readings that you really don't HAVE to do. Highly recommend, I learned a ton.

Comment:

Although he may sometimes get off topic talking about his life experiences and whatnot, his lectures were interesting and he is clearly passionate about what he teaches. In my particular course, I found that his tendency to get off-track makes relying on the readings particularly important to find key details that show up on his exams and quizzes.

Professor Wisensale has been one of the best professors I have had thus far. He is so passionate about the material. I really enjoyed the class and content, so studying was not terrible for me. I worked hard for my A. This is not a class that you can just take as a joke. He only gives out good grades to those who show they deserve and worked for it

Comment:

Dr. Wisensale has such an easygoing and confident teaching style. Only "textbook" is the book "Half the Sky," but tests are very specific and long. Attendance is mandatory!!! As long as you go to class, participate, and understand the material you'll do well.

He assigns a lot of long and boring readings, and thinks he's never wrong. He knows A TON about law but wants you to remember every single detail. One of the hardest classes I've ever taken - would not recommend!

Lots of readings that are somewhat confusing and boring unless you're very interested in law. Wisensale really knows the material but has a lot of time on his hands so the class is extremely challenging. I would not recommend this class unless you absolutely love law and want to be challenged. Otherwise, it is boring and tiring.

Do not take any class with this professor. Disrespectful & inconsiderate. Exams consist of 20 in-depth MC questions, defining terms with one paragraph or more for each, & answer 2 essay questions. He expects our answers to be in-depth & thorough, but that is hard to do when you only have 1 hour. Tough grader, expects us to know everything about law

Dr. Wisensale is hands down the best professor I've had at UConn. He has an immense understanding of worldly knowledge and puts all together in his teaching. His class on baseball and society was my favorite course as he was able to develop a manner to study America's Pastime through a scholarly lens. If you love baseball take this class!!!

Dr. Wisensale is awesome. He is sassy but really passionate about the material. Makes you want to learn about the world and really care about it. Very clear about tests/ assignments. Go and participate ! And theres no textbook

Although this class was easier than most, it is by no means an easy class. He's a nice guy and cares about his students, but he also expects a lot out of you. He asks very specific questions that pertain to the readings and videos that he assigns. Be ready to read or else you will NOT do well on his quizzes and exams. I don't reccomend skipping.

Dr. Wisensale is likely the highest quality instructor you will have at UConn. However, if you're hoping to skate through your required policy class, avoid this one. You will learn a great deal from Dr. W, but this is not an easy A by any means. He has high expectations for his students. Exams are difficult. Midterm includes 5-page take home essay

Wisensale is an awesome professor. I learned so much in his Comparatative Family Policy class that is applicable to real life. There aren't too many notes either which makes listening to his stories easy. There are some homework assignments but nothing too difficult. He always had me eager to come to class and kept me interested. Take his classes!

I took all of his classes. He is not an easy teacher, but if you go to class you will learn SO much! Also, he barely uses a textbook and instead uses online readings so that it's free for us (which is great!). He's incredibly smart and an amazing teacher! Loved his courses. He also is great in office hours.

Great professor. You need to come to class, but going is actually interesting, and you'll feel like you learned something by the end of the semester. His exams are on the difficult side, so make sure you know the reading. My only complaint is that he takes off points on essays and such for apparently no reason...
