Comment:
Professor Schmidt TRULY cares about his students and I legitimately loved coming to class. He primarily teaches Hebrew by reading from the textbook (you have to buy the textbook), but we work on/review the homework questions together and he gives great feedback. Occasionally he will give out worksheets that enhance the homework from the textbook.

One of the best professors I have had! If you are interested in learning, in actually gaining knowledge in the field of study and becoming competent with the material, then take Dr. Schmidt. He truly cares about teaching, he gives great feedback, and goes out of his way to help you develop academically. I plan on taking many more classes with him!

I took his class pass/fail, but I really wish I didn't. Professor Schmidt really explained everything so well that it was easy to do well in his class even if you didn't read all of the assigned readings (although I would recommend doing them). He is very easygoing, friendly, and knowledgeable. I highly recommend taking one of his classes.

Professor Schmidt is an amazing professor. His lectures were interesting and innovative, and his take on class texts was intriguing. He created an inclusive, fun, and collaborative environment. Also, he was very accessible to students, and you could tell that he truly cared about our class. I would surely take any future class that he teaches.

His teaching style can be a little unclear, but there are things he does that helps students tremendously. He's more interested in students learning than giving them exact grades, so as long as you show you have thought about the question intelligently, he will give you at least a partial credit. He's very accessible and interesting to talk to.

Professor Schmidt is very knowledgeable and cares about the subject and students a lot. With that said, he many times does not realize that most students do not have a deep background on the material--which makes his lectures confusing and unclear. They are also boring. Exams are easy--although review materials are confusing. Study for hour get A

Not much work for the class, but his teaching style is unclear. The tests aren't difficult, but there are no good study resources available for the exams.

This class was extremely easy. The lectures are boring but if you go to the review you can ace the class. Overall, great teacher.

This guy is the man. Lecture not really needed but great to go. Two in-class exams - midterm and final - non-cumulative. You can study the review sheet the day before or the day of the exam and get an A no problem.

He has a very "grown-up" approach to teaching. He wants you to be able to think on your own, ask your own questions, and come up with your own ways to answer them. He's still closely monitoring the process and guides you when necessary. He also cares a lot about his students on a personal level. I highly recommend his classes.
