He tells interesting stories and shares experiences with class, but he is not a good teacher. No example problems. The test will be difficult and there will be a 25 points problem that you cant solve. Also, in the final he is not nice. His finals are difficult. I would retake him just to listen to his stories but never as a teacher.

Professor Yurgartis knows his material and explains the topics very well. He is not one to do many problems in class, therefore the homework problems were very difficult. He is very picky on how you answer his conceptual problems on his exams, and I believe he should NOT put these on there. His exams are similar to the practice ones he posts.

Worst professor ever. I've had hard grading professors and its for pushing students. Concept questions on the exams are worth 50 and you can not get them all right unless you say exactly what he said in class. Even so, he'll still say you're wrong sometimes. Knows what he's talking about, i'll give him that. But horrible. Feedback? "idiot". No hel

Returns homework a month late; no feedback. Harsh grader, you get no points even if you got most of it right. Has to be regurgitated back EXACTLY the way he wants it at that time. Thankfully I never ever have to take a class with this guy again.

Bad at teaching, just recites slide shows then gives you tests on what was said on this specific slide. No Partial credit and is judgmental against girls. Good luck ladies

Great class. One of the most clear and concise professors at Clarkson. I learned more about engineering in general from this class than any other class. Tests are pretty tough and you need to know everything to finish on time. Even though it is open textbook you have no time to look things up except formulas . He is very helpful in office hours.

Only covers the very basics of MatLab and AutoCAD which you could learn from watching 1 youtube video. Expects you to turn in a final report with very intricate MatLab code and CAD drawings that you didnt learn enough to even be able to do. The class material and assignments are easy but most students get C's because of the sketchy grading system.

Amazing professor, if you have the opportunity take this class with Yurgartis. Very interesting and teaches the class well because he LOVES the topics covered. Tells great stories too. Tests are tough though.

Yugartis is teaching an outdated class with subjective grading policies. He demotivates students by critically judging the work you do in class, often prohibiting effective learning. The final project is for wood workers and tinkers, not engineering students.

I believe his philosophy is to be a big enough ****bag so the students are prepared for real life. To my surprise he was quite helpful, if you can get past his sarcastic attitude and arrogant smile

The worst professor i've ever had. Hard to learn, expects you to know matlab, and CAD, then tests you on it with little room for passing. DO NOT TAKE HIS CLASS IF YOU CAN HELP IT

His grading policy sucks. You can't get a good grade on anything, unless the hw is 110% perfect, just a bad teacher.

Not helpful, no feedback on graded stuff, when you finally get it back, expects you to know CAD and MatLAB, and tests you on it. Very much dislike the course, his only one!
