Don't select this professor unless you already know Spanish. He calls on you every class and goes over every homework assingment in class. He makes you write a Spanish journal which I think is the most stupid thing in the world. The quizzes were the only easy part of the class. He acts as if everyone is a Spanish major.

Make sure you do the homework! He goes over it every class and WILL go around pick on everyone to answer. Tests are mostly writing identifications, but he tells you exactly what you need to study for the test. I thought he was pretty funny, but I can see how he could come off as a jerk.

He was tough, but funny. He was a lot of fun with our class - seemed sarcastic, but I think most of it was his sense of humor. I don't think he meant to be rude - he was just cutting up. We kind of dished it back to him and made jokes ourselves, and most of us enjoyed this class. I thought he was good - looking, too.

Prof. Bankhead can be very intimidating at times however, he's truly a cool guy. There will be classes where he gets on your nerves but Just do the work and you will get a good grade. However, if you did not take Spanish in high school then this class may seem like it's going too fast.

Where are my ratings? I have given him a good rating twice and they are not in there. I don't understand. I, too, just finished his class, and thought he was a good professor. He was fair to everyone and tried to help. He was very humorous as well. My whole class liked him. He was hard, but fair.

I have ABSOLUTELY no idea what some of these posters are talking about unless Prof. Bankhead has recently changed his ways. I went in expecting the worst, but ended up loving the class. He is VERY helpful, and yes, its a hard class, but he tells you exactly what to study, and is helpful when it comes to grading. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED!

Horrible teacher. In the intro spanish class he explains homework and all directions in spanish so you have no clue what he is saying. Then a month into the semester, you canNOT speak english in the classroom. And yes, this was the lowest, intro spanish.

Is very biased towards boys...very unclear about what he wants in the class. If you don't understand a question in spanish he will shoot another one at you, adding to the confusion and sending you ICY cold looks the entire time. He acts very pompous and arrogant most of the time and will take any opportunity to make you look stupid.

He has high expectations and moves quickly, but if you do all the homework and attend class, you should be able to do well. All tests are taken directly from homework & he is willing to take time outside of class to work with you. He can seem rude at times and has a tendency to play favorites.
