I loved this professor. He wants you to learn the language at your own pace. The sad thing is that he is bound to time constraints, but he is a very understanding teacher and cares for his students. I have never felt so comfortable to learn a completely new language before. He helped me overcome anxiety and I learned to speak and read Greek! TAKE!

Strati is by far the greatest teacher i have ever had in my life. He is one of the few people out there who actually cares about his students. I cant say enough about him. Hes interesting, entertaining, smart, and easy to approach. I knew nothing about the greek language before this class and he has taught me so much in only one semester.

He is the sweetest professor at Hofstra. Class is appropriately paced and fun. If you pay attention to what he says in class you will do fine on the tests. 1 midterm, 1 final and a 5-page paper with short presentation. Dr. Demertzis is one the best teachers I've ever had. I met Dr. Demertzis when I was a sophomore at Mineola High School taking AP European History. He was also my advisor in my senior mentorship project in which we read Il Cortegiano by Baldasare Castiglione and reported on what it takes to become a well rounded person.

I love this guy. Took two semesters of church history with him and learned so much. So nice, and has lots of stories. Picks on everyone in the class but doesn't mean any harm. Church history sounds boring but I really enjoyed his classes.

One of the best history profs. at hofstra, took him for both 128&129 and going to Greece in January and taking history of modern greece with him. Do the readings and pay attention to his lectures and you should have no problem.

Really smart, light hearted unless in bad mood. A true "Greek" haha reminds me of my Baba . . . patient, but sometimes "unconfortable" around girls lol (you''ll know what i mean when u have the class!) overall very enjoyable. its only hard because the language is, not because of him.

I enjoyed his class a lot. Demertzis is a very smart man with a great sense of humor. His tests are tough if you don't do the readings, but show effort and he'll work with you.
