Comment:

Prof. Ryan tries to make sure he covers everything, even the basics; he knows that there are no science majors in General Physics for Non-Science Majors! He's easy to talk to, and it's easy to get a good grade in the class. The tests are open-note, open-book. Sometimes when he lectures he repeats himself a lot, but that's the only problem I had.

Comment:

Didn't enjoy the class but he is a really nice guy and tries hard to make the class fun and interesting. Everyday there are mini quizzes so if you want paritcipication points, go to every class. You can use any notes and your book on the tests but you should still study and pay attention in class.

One of the best instructors I have ever had! Kept the class interesting with many experiments, and seemed sincere in wanting students to learn something. Grading system was great! Even if you didn't do well on tests, you could earn points just by showing up to class and participating in the daily reading quiz. Highly recomend this instructor!

Take this for your non-lab science! Dr. Ryan is awesome and does some of the craziest things just to teach physics! He has 2 help sessions a week to give assistance and every test/quiz is open book and open not. But don't take this class lightly- you have to understand the concepts to be able to succeed.

this guy rocks. he makes class totally enjoyable and fun. even with 230 people in the class. he's crazy and hella nice. i thought i was failing, so i didn't show up for the final. HE CALLED ME, BROUGHT THE FINAL TO MY HOUSE (i did live in his neighborhood, but still) GAVE ME LIKE 3 HOURS TO DO IT AND THEN CAME AND PICKED IT UP! i passed his class with a C. seriously... BEST. PROFESSOR.EVER! TAKE THIS CLASS!

I'm in physics for non-science majors, and, although it's a large class, Dr. Ryan is incredibly helpful. There's also plenty of opportunities to make up points. The tests are open book and open note, which, considering he gives you practice test that you can work out and use as notes, make for some very easy tests. He's also quite amusing, ...and he's blown stuff up twice in class.

Incredibly easy class and was very entertaining. His firecrackers in the trash set off the fire alarm and the building had to evacuate. All tests were open book/note - easiest class I had in college.
