He struck me as awkward and uncertain at first but really he just has an awkward and slightly self-deprecating sense of humor that is really funny. He's extremely well informed, but open to discussion even in a larger class. His lectures were quite good without being pretentious.

One of the best English professors I had at Brown (and I concentrated in English). He was extremely helpful, insightful, and interesting. I took this class because I loved EL 120 so much. He was truly an inspiration!!
