Comment:

As someone who has a hard time with chemistry, his lectures were tough. I was lost throughout most of the time and had to completely teach myself the course. The textbook was the only thing that kept me afloat and I somehow managed to scrape my way through. Terrible experience.

Very nice prof but expects you do to most of the work on your own and does not do many examples in class. I found this tests were tricky and different then things discussed in class but I believe he really does want everyone to do well.

Abhyankar is a nice enough person, he just isn't a good when it comes to first year courses unless you're someone who likes doing the readings and figuring it out by yourself. He expects too much out of first year students trying out chemistry. He is also somewhat unorganized to the point that you can get quite confused during his lectures.

He was a great teacher. Explained everything well and his tests were fairly easy ! If you went to his office and asked if he had a minute to help he would say "i'm never to busy for a student". One of the best teachers I had at grenfell.

If you do take this professor, be prepared to do a lot of extra work due to the inadequacy of his teaching methods. I felt that he did not genuinely care too much about the success of his students and will leave you off on your own with learning. Despite all of this, he may be the better choice out of the other professors at Grenfell for Chem 1001

Dr. A is an AMAZING prof! I never wanted to miss a class because he would add little facts and make very funny jokes. Anyone who has to take Organic Chemistry - take Abhyankar all the way! He is by FAR one of the best profs at Grenfell! 5 Gold Stars!!

I LOVE the fact that he has slides. He is fair when it comes to tests, however, I detest his pop quizes. He explains things very well in class. Sometimes class can get a little boring but he livens it up with his jokes.
