Professor Fisher is a pretty solid teacher who not only wants you to succeed, but also challenges you. Do be warned that she is a tough grader and if you're taking her class to breeze by, go elsewhere. Overall, she gives really good, in-depth feedback and her lectures are interesting and funny.

Took her class for Creative Writing and the class was pretty cool. Very easy as well. She has a personality to her of sarcasm and fast wit. You read a lot of other students short stories when they are workshopped. At some point, you research and build a powerpoint on a poet & write 2 short stories and a dramatic scene to present to the prof.

She is a very good professor I will admit but do not skip more than one class the whole semester. I did not show up to two classes and my grade dropped a whole letter grade and nothing I did could bump my grade back up. The midterm was difficult (which for my class was the most points) but the finals and essays are easier.

This class was not really what I expected it to be when it came to children's literature as I thought it would be more specifically based on current children's literature. I thought the final was the hardest compared to the midterm and there was way too much to memorize just for the final. The study guide, especially for the final, was very vague.

Very hard grader, makes your work very hard for just a B, lots of reading, hard midterm and final all short/essay answers.. gives a study guide but very vague. She is nice and gives good lectures but you really have to pay attention. The amount of stories and details you need to know is a lot, be prepared. Some lectures are very interesting tho

She grades tough on the essays but she is super nice & really tries to make class interesting. Always good to turn in rough drafts early so she could give feedback. Those really help for the final drafts. Sometimes she talks too fast and with a lot of info, but she tends to catch herself doing that and will slow down. I really enjoy her class!

No English teacher has taught me like Professor Fisher. She's really helpful and good at explaining things. Went to her office hours and she explained Plato to me line by line. Tough class but was fun and manageable.

Professor Fisher is a very fair and approachable teacher. She makes everyone feel comfortable participating in discussions and there are commonly no wrong answers. I took her Intro to Literature class and it was extremely fair but had a large amount of reading.

BEST PROFESSOR AT SADDLEBACK COLLEGE!! I took ENG1B as an 8-week course and while it was difficult, Professor Fisher makes it well worth it. She's the kind of instructor you would expect to find at Harvard, not Saddleback. Make sure you have at least one class with her while you're here, I promise you won't regret it.

Im expecting to get a low C in the class but I could have easily gotten a B, or possibly an A, if I had read every story and came to most lectures. As long as you read most of the stories you can easily get an A or B, also take every quiz. Overall she is a nice professor.

This was definitely not what I expected when I saw the title "Children's Literature." There are 10 point quizzes each week related to the reading for the week & some are harder than others. There are 2 essays. 1 short 1,000 words, 1 long 1,200 words. She is a very fair grader on the essays. The midterm & final are very challenging but she is fair.

Professor Fisher was nice and funny. Class was long and she lectured for the majority of it with participation from the students. Her papers were hard for me because they focused on analyzing the story rather than summarizing which I would focus on. Attendance matters because the exams cover what we talk about in class. Take notes!

Fisher is the most amazing professor ever. Her lectures are very intriguing, and she wants her students to be excited about learning and writing essays; therefore, the subject matters discussed and written about are super interesting. Put it this way: I would've written all the essays whether they counted for credit or not. Take Fisher!

Prof Fisher is a gem. She is witty, sarcastic, and truly loves her students. I'm a nursing major, and didn't enjoy writing until this class. I received an A in ENG1A but wow I really had to work for my A in this class. In order to receive an A you gotta be dedicated to writing good rough drafts bc she will give u feedback for the final paper!

She's funny and a good teacher. Uses the book a lot. Gives articles and essays to read. Essays are worth 100 points. Gives detailed feedback on essays. As long as you show up and do the work you should be fine.

We have great discussions in class that still relate to the passages or lessons. She assigns a lot of essays but allows you to turn in your rough draft for feedback. She's blunt, which is actually helpful when it comes to improving your writing skills.

6 essays, 2 in class, and a midterm. No final :) you do need to show up to class to participates in the activities as it counts as points. You turn in a rough draft with her feedback, which is great. Definitely not an easy A, but very manageable.
