Professor Anderson is one of those professors that you hate during the class, but appreciate after the course is over. She is very strict and grades tests, labs, and homeworks toughly. Both attendance and punctuality are a MUST. It's a lot of work, but she really is a great teacher. I would reccomend her for those who struggle in Math

Your Hokie education is not complete unless you take Professor Anderson! She is truly amazing! Almost 9 years ago, I took her class and now I remember her everyday when I teach. (I'm a math professor at a state college now.)Every future math class you take will be enjoyable thanks to the foundation she gives you. Enjoy!

I really enjoyed this class. She made it really interesting and was an engaging teacher. I probably did an hour of homework between each class, but I learned the material and it stuck with me. If you need to take this class, take it with her. And although she is a feminist, she didn't seem prejudiced against the guys in the class at all to me.

She's a very nice lady and is very clear with her teaching. She gives out a fair amount of homework, but she uses some of those problems on the test. I personally think that she looks like one of those crazy cat ladies. Oh, she can talk really fast sometimes, just ask her to slow down

Positives: Very helpful, quite enthusiastic, breaks down the material well. Negatives: Homework challenge level [From Stewart Calc] isn't in sync with test challenge level. Tests are much more difficult than HW. If your only math background is that from a public high-school, you probably want to avoid this class.

Helpful teacher who is very enthusiastic about teaching her classes. You feel like she really wants you to succeed, but that doesn't mean it's an easy class. You really learn the material and thus do well on the common time final. You hand in HW in almost every class

In response to what every other guy thought, Susan was a feminist activist, but that didn't make her class harder. Her tests were challenging, but they were nothing that the clearly explained in-class material didn't prepare you for. 1206 is tough, and it seems to me that people want someone else to blame when they don't do well. Be ready to work.

She is definitely a hippie man-hating ****, and her tests are ridiculous. Do not take her if you want to slack off even a little bit. She "prepares" for tests, but the problems she gives you are insane. It seems like she's coked up all the time.

This was a required course for engineering majors. While she seems to be a competent teacher, she also clearly has more than a few biases (not so much anti-male, but very much so on the left). As an example, she cancelled classes for two days when US troops went into Iraq (back in 1991).
