This professor was not very approachable and condescending, and I felt like I could not ask any questions or come to her for help during office hours. This course was very demanding for being a first year philosophy course, and I would not recommend taking it unless it was required.

Very nice and personable woman, but she has trouble staying on track with her presentations of material. There is rarely anything up on the board or any slides, so notes must be taken directly from what she says. Dr. Daniel's class requires you to learn mostly on your own, the classes are too short and off topic to prepare you for the tests.

I have her for my PHL 102 class which is my first college philosophy class. She's awesome at lecturing and tries her best to make it understanding and is very open to questions. ATTENDANCE MATTERS!! She follows the school's policy about absences but the tests are also based heavily on the lecture rather than the book itself.

Very helpful in explaining concepts. A lot of the class was basically math with numbers, which could be helpful to some and hard for others. Lots of homework to help you understand concepts, but she does not grade it. Tests are easy and she spends time in class going over any and all questions you have before moving on to the next topic.

Shes a great teacher if you show up and listen. Personally many of my friends had to read the book, but I got an A without ever touching it. Study, or you won't pass.

Daniels is a really good professor. She's funny and I've learned so much from her. I'm never bored in her class. I've heard some people think she's condescending but the class I'm in has never had this problem. I've also seen complaints that she doesn't cover certain philosophers enough but I assure you she aim cover them all as equally as possible

I was there every day and go a "B" or better on every quiz and test, but she still managed to give me a "C". I emailed her about this and she has not replied back. I feel as though she made people not want to participate in class because she would always manage to find a reason why you are wrong and correct you.

Dr. Daniel comes of condescending. I do not think that is her intention, but tends to be quick to tell someone they are wrong. Also she asks the class to make their own argument and always argues against the idea, making some of the class thinking she is being condescending.

AVOID. Daniel, despite speaking out against those who claim to have the answers, has accepted a dogmatic perspective. Dismissive of her students if they actually challenge her viewpoints. Condescending and unused to having students who are actually interested. Ignores the contributions of many respected philosophers like Kant, Tillich, Aquinas, etc

Susan has been one of my FAVORITE professors. I never got "bored" or "zoned out" in ANY of her lectures. She speaks very clearly and slowly. To be successful in her class, you MUST take notes, MUST attend EVERY LECTURE, and MUST do the assigned reading, highlighting along the way. Pay attention and study. It's an extremely easy A.

I love her! She's been fantastic in all the courses I've had her for (which were admittedly all upper division). She expects a high quality of work but she's understanding and a genuinely good educator who wants her students to succeed. I'm sad to see the negative reviews.

She isn't all that bad in the beginning as long as you show up to class and listen. She is however short tempered and shuts you down if you say something that she doesn't agree with. If I could help it I wouldn't take another class from her again.

Find another professor. She is extremely rude and unhelpful. I've never had a professor be so short with me when I had a question. She will make you feel stupid both in class and when you go to her to ask for help or clarification (even if it's her error). She has office hours but acts like its a big inconvenience if you stop by.

Loved her class, especially ethics. Tough information to grasp but she has a good handle on it. She is often late but I find that to be a problem with many college profs. Not easy but if you like philosophy Susan is for you.

Her lectures were very understandable although tests were pretty confusing. She didn't word test easily so ended up being pretty tricky. I liked the class but I also studied A LOT! If her tests were worded better, i would have rated her much higher.

She knows what she's talking about and can help you understand it. HAVE to go to the classes - the notes are the most important and her lectures clarify a lot. Interesting class, would recommend it to anyone. Definitely want to have another class with her in the future.

Okay, it's not that she's a terrible professor. She knows her stuff. It's just that she won't listen to students' ideas if they differ from hers and she has an extreme need to interject during every 2 seconds of a conversation. Philosophy's my major and I love it. I would recommend taking it from someone else.
