Comment:

Professor Harrell is a really nice professor. She was very clear in her expectations, and always willing to help out. She is very passionate about what she does, and she gives a lot of great examples. There are weekly assignments/quizzes, but as long as you do the quiz study guides and look over grading criteria, it should be an easy A class.

Comment:

You should go to class because when a lot of people don't show up she gives a lot more helpful things to students who are there. She also is very willing to help you with anything at all. Read the chapters before class and you don't have to take notes but at least read the chapter before you take quizzes.

I took an on campus with Prof. H first (Family Law) and loved her and the class. She is an amazing professor who I would definitely recommend. She makes you work, but you'll learn something and she is very helpful if you just ask. She will also adjust grades if she made a mistake.

Prof. Harrell put as much work (if not more)into this class as she expected of us. She made herself available throughout the week in person, online and at the library to help her students understand the material. I truly enjoyed her class and teaching methods. The class is challenging but Prof. Harrell makes it manageable.

I have had this prof. for two classes, the other i made an A in. Yes her classes are challenging, but not impossibly hard. If you are lazy, do not take her classes, you will not be able to keep up. She is always available to her students. Lectures are concise. Overall a a very good teacher who cares about her students

I had her Family Law class and I found it difficult. I took the online class and she required so much work. There is a quiz about every other week which is really hard and then she has an assignment EVERY week that takes alot of time to complete and get right. If you do not like working your butt of I would not take this teacher.

Tough class! The thing that makes it tougher is that EVERY ONE of our assignments (written by Susan) has had at least one error that cost me hours in the library looking for false leads. I finally got with the plan, let everyone else find her errors, and did my assignments on the final due date. I hate doing double work!

She is a tough but fair teacher. She ensures that you have a clear understanding of the material. She requires that you read the material, and if you do not then she will not help you. If you do the assignment and read the book then she will help you if you have trouble. The stunts that are lazy do not like her. I think she is a great teacher.

Such a great Professor! I would take every class she offers. So helpful, not super easy but very fair in grading and assignments. She has met with me on a number of occasions, knows everything going on in the legal studies majors and is so so helpful. Could not say a poor thing about her!

Prof. Harrell is awesome! I have had her for an online class (Law and Film) and I currently have her for Ethics in Criminal Justice.I am not sure why people are making such negative comments about her. She is very helpful and presents material in a clear manner. I look forward to taking more classes with her!

I am not sure what other people are talking. Not willing to work with her students?! seriously this is the teacher that will go over every test question and would make a study guide for the class. She will post any jobs or scholarships within the field and will help you get them. Her class was fun, she was funny but most of all informative.

I liked this teacher in the beginning, however you will learn that not only is his work hard and demanding for a beginning class she is very rude and opinionated. I would NOT RECOMMEND this teacher for any class. She has made me hate UWF so much that I am considering changing schools b/c I refuse to have her as a teacher in other classes.

I don't know what those other people were talking about, but Prof. Harrell is an excellent teacher. She knows her material, and she's willingy to explain it again if the material is unclear. She's always tries to get your assignments graded on time and tries to respond promptly to your emails. She's also tough, but she's great!

I don't quite understand the previous comments. I found her very helpful, called her all the time. Responds almost immediately to e-mails, very clear about all assignments! Requires a lot, but is ALWAYS there to help, and clarifies everything! Awesome teacher!! Wish there were some like her in the Poli. Sci. Dept.....work hard on your memo!!!

It's not that the material is especially hard, it's that she doesn't teach it well. I found her lectures to be of little benefit in understanding the material and her willingness to help outside the classroom seems to be limited to certain types of students.
