Although Ireland definitely gives off an intimidating vibe, she's a great lecturer and discussion leader. Classes are very well-structured and workload is manageable. Very clear about what she expects from you.

She's one of the best professors in the French Department. Very helpful and very clear on her expectations. She might seem a little unfriendly at first but she is really nice once you get to know her. I only too FRN 312 with her.

Ireland is extremely clear and organized. Classes sometimes boring, sometimes stimulating. Expects a lot from her students. Can be a difficult grader, but usually fair. Not very approachable. If she likes you she'll make you a French major, her advisee, and put you in all of her classes, (may or may not be a good thing). But she knows her stuff.

Fantastic. Very very clear in her expectations and assignments, insanely organized, and extremely helpful outside of class. Tests were fair, homework was never excessive. She's a bit of a chilly person, but overall a great professor.

At first she seemed to be cold, but then overtime our class learned to both respect her and GREATLY appreciate her! She is one of the most well published profs at Grinnell and it shows! Her grading is hard but just and her comments are constructive. TAKE HER CLASS IF YOU CAN!
