Susan Lewis is an very understanding and nice proffessor. i dropped this class because i felt that it was too much work. there are alot of essays, and some of them i wasn't sure on how to write them. However, if you go to her office hours, she is very understanding and willing to help.

Lewis is a nice professor, but if you want to take this class, be ready to read 5 books and write five 3-4 page homework and two 5 page essays. Also you need to go to every class to write reading review or group work. But she will give a lot of extra credit and she will give you chance to improve papers grade. If you are not lazy with work take it

Professor Lewis is a great professor and was very helpful to have for the seminar. she makes sure you go in the right direction and always available to help you in any way she can. the final long paper was a challenge but she gives you good feedback. wish we started the paper form day one but regardless she was great as a seminar teacher!

Wonderful professor, advisor, and human being! Conveys knowledge very well, and does a great job of structuring the class. Open to all different viewpoints. Also, very helpful, understanding, and approachable, and a fair grader. Truly cares about her students, and wants them to feel comfortable seeking out her help.

FANTASTIC professor. She knows her stuff and if she doesn't, she honest about it. She's hilarious and laid back, and teaches you to be more objective and critical of history and historians. I learned so much and hope to take more classes with her. She actually cares about your opinions so don't be afraid to say them!

Extremely fair teacher. More work than i would have liked but a challenge is always good. Defies stereotypes about what an American History class should be- the main theme was multicultural education vs traditional and there were some very interesting discussions.

History of Women, Fall 2008: Great teacher. Her lectures are pretty interesting. She doesn't take attendance but there IS a lot of homework involved. Heavy reading in this class, out of the three or four (inexpensive) textbooks she uses. I'd say she is an easy grader and an extremely fair teacher.

Lewis is awesome! She doesn't give tests, and values your thoughts & opinions, doesn't care about memorizing dates/names. There's a lot of reading & writing required, but she works w/ you and offers lots of help-go to her office hours. She takes time to pick out the texts, so they're interesting and usuful. If you aren't lazy, you'll love her class!

Lewis was a very fair lady. She kept you well-informed of what u needed to hand in n when things were due. She gave plenty of time for papers. Youll watch loads of videos. If you do the assignments, show up, and listen: there is no way you won't get an A. You need the text! and pick the journals over the quizzes: more annoying but easier.

Very nice professor, easy to approach for help during office hours. It did seem like she was adding more work to the syllabus as we went along, there was a ton of reading and homework every week.

She was an awesome teacher. She makes things interesting and fun. She gave us a lot of readings but it was easy to catch up if you fall behind. Lots of movies and always happy to help. She listens to the students and doesn't judge you based on the grades.

Very flighty, but overall an excellent professor. Very lenient about due dates. Does not really care about attendance but you have to write reflections. Tests very easy. Essays are easy-ish. Really nice woman. Always shows fun videos. Mention Schoolhouse Rock to her.

She is just an awesome lady. She makes a deal wtih you that she doesn't care when things are due as long as you don't care if she takes forever to hand things back... fine by ME! Take her for anything and you should do fine by just doing what is required. Good lady!
