Comment:

This class was the worst class i have taken so far. She preaches straight from the book word for word which makes learning and paying attention extremely difficult. I would not take her if it is possible. She gives way too much information and when it comes to tests if you ask what do we need to know she will simply say the important stuff.

I have read all these comments and laughed. Dr.Meyer was the prof for many of my slp courses in the early 80's as well as my academic advisor. She was the toughest prof I ever had! You will be grateful when you enter the field and when you go to grad school! You will be so well prepared! We all loved her! She was an amazing woman!

Dr. Meyer is rude, boring, and is completely irrational when it comes to the amount of information she expects her students to know for and INTRO class. She expects you to not only know the information from the book (all of it) but also from the notes you take in class. This is the worst class i've ever had the displeasure to take.

RUN! This Professor is very knowledgable for SLP students but not for SPU100. She does not know what she's talking about. Her lecture is directly word for word from the book so just start highlighting. You basically teach yourself the course from the book. Attendance is mandatory. She is not helpful at all, and is very rude one-on-one.

It's obvious this is the first time shes taught 100.HORRIBLE DO NOT TAKE. she basically wants you to know everything and anything from the book AND her notes. it's just impossible to get that much information in your brain. When u get the test, you're like 'what when did we learn this? should be an easy class but she makes it so much more difficult

Easily one of the worst professors I've ever had.She is unclear in presenting the info and has no method to the way she teaches.Her tests are not at all comparable to what you learn.They are extremely difficult and you have to practically teach yourself the material.DO NOT take her for SPU 100 classes or the like

This class was ridiculous. Take out your highlighter and textbook because this is how she will give you notes. Make sure you know everything in the SLP chapter bc she spent 3 days on it. She teaches you things and then puts the exact opposite on tests. Her lecture and the book contradict themselves so do yourself a favor and dont take her!

Dr Meyer is probably the toughest prof I've had yet. She really knows her stuff and she is preparing you for the field. Just pay attention and try your best... good notes are a must bc there is no text. She is awesome if you need any extra help, she is very involved with her students. Make sure you go to class to get the 3% pts at the end

Meyer told us in the beginning that normal was her hardest class and boy was she right. She is very repetitive and her test are all essays. The entire class is lecture without a book. She speaks very fast so make sure you are paying attention. She will give you unnecessary info, but you will be surprised by that little info on her tests. Good luck.

Difficult Class, no book, very abstract...She gives alot of info..only 3 tests all semester...way way too much info...Smart lady, could be helpful, doesnt give you a HINT of whats on the test...Not that you can avoid taking her though, so good luck!

Overwhelms with info. Essay exams, Final is cumulative. I retook same class at another school, more enjoyable, not full of unnecessary info. LOTS of note taking. Not much time for Q&A. Check Amazon for the critique on the book she wrote, they say the same thing, that Meyer overdoes it with info. Not approachable in-class, friendlier at office hrs.
