Comment:

She was my professor for my first ever computer science class. Before this class I had never coded ever. Thanks to her, I got a firm grasp on programming and especially types. Her classes and homeworks will prepare you extremely well. Such a nice and great teacher that everyone loves. She helped me build a strong foundation for my future classes.

She might not like the people from another background. She taught good but she pretends that you are at the same level as her. If you ask the problem she might show you on next class after she gets prepared. She shows her madness to the innocent student, everyone pay tuition fee and that's where she is getting paid, she should realize it.

Susan Older is a goddess. Do everything you can to take a class with her. She genuinely cares about every student (she even learns every student's name) and will do whatever she can to help you understand

Comment:

One of the nicest and most caring professors on campus. Computer science would be much easier if every professor taught like she did. As long as you attend each lecture and listen, you don't have to do any additional studying to get a least a B+ in the class. Extremely nice and will never turn you down if you need help.

This is the first real intro to cs class, so it naturally steps things up a notch. She is probably one of the most helpful professors on this campus. If you don't understand she always makes herself available to help. She is a very strict grader, but she always goes back to make sure you learn what you didn't understand Lectures are insanely boring

Awesome teacher. Very nice and extremely helpful. One of the best in the CS Department hands down. She will help you with anything and she will also sit with you past her office hours if it's necessary. If you get to know her you can walk in her office any time and she'll help you with any course she has knowledge about, without complaint.

Comment:

The best professor in CS. Always extremely well-prepared, and on time. Homework is actually interesting, enjoyable, and carefully thought out. A bit anal about grading, but never arbitary. The only prof. in the department who won't condescend to you, and who doesn't have contempt for you. My only complaint is the frequency of exams.

Older's teaching kinda reminded me of a squirrel on crack, very erratic. She was a breath of fresh air though as she was actually a good teacher, unlike the majority of the CIS dept. Not to mention a good looking CIS teacher is worth her weight in gold!!

Profesor Older was always willing to help but she forced you to think for yourself and would not just give you the answer. I thought her Concurrent Systems and Haskell class were too esoteric. She got more attractive each year I had her.
