I took this class in D2018. Addison is very passionate about this class, though he only has four official grades (two quizzes and two exams) along with participation. If you are active in his classes and attend (he does keep track), it is hard to not get an A. He posts the essay questions before exams and assigns a fair amount of online reading.

Without a doubt, the worst professor I have taken at WPI. Pushes his own political agenda and does not tolerate any conflicting ideas. The class is not "European Cultural History" unless talking about kneeling for the American National Anthem is Euporean. Absolutely no explanation behind any grades, expect to just receive a random letter.

He is a hilarious guy and he mixes personal anecdotes with his lectures. You can tell he loves history and he tries to engage his class all the time. I probably should have gotten a B from my actual grades but he gave me an A because I participated a lot and showed my interest. Show up to class and you'll fine!

One of the best professors I've ever had. I hate European history but he made it all seem so captivating. A very eye-opening course. This guy knows what he is talking about. Very witty and intelligent.

Extraordinarily helpful, very intelligent. Conducts deep and meaningful class and conversation. Methods and assignments rather unorthodox, but definitely interesting. Overall a great prof.
