I've had a lot of great professors at Kent, however, this was not one of them in the slightest. Her grading of tests, papers, and participation was overly inconsistent and the teacher displayed little respect for students. Extremely difficult to do well mainly due to the way the class was taught and graded. Sociology is fine, but this teacher isn't

All you have to do is know what is on her power points. Reading assignments really dont help with class, if you read the summary at the end of the text book you are set. Class doesn't require that much work really, just smart studying. Lectures get a little long, but if you participate it is ok. She is genuinely a nice woman and interesting.

Great professor and class - this is a good choice for a SOC elective! Dr. Roxburgh is friendly, respectful, engaging, & knows what she's talking about - I always looked forward to attending class and was sad when it ended. Class materials, discussions, assignments and lectures were interesting, challenging, and informative. A+

I really don't get any of the complains people have made here. She's incredibly helpful, stays on topic more than most professors, and is an infinitely sweet woman. And I'm a guy, so she definitely doesn't have the gender issues mentioned before. I'm very happy I took her Theory class. It was hard, but a good time overall.

Just plain awful. Not interesting and really difficult. Papers are hard and she will make your life a living hell if she even sees a cell phone around you. Under any circumstances, do not take her classes. Chances are, she will make it terrible.

Dr. Roxburgh was an amazing professor, the best I've had at Kent. She is really good at making 200 year old theories understandable and relevent. Very helpful, is more than willing to discuss upcoming papers with you and will put you on the right path. Sometimes goes off on rants that have nothing to do with the course but are very interesting.
