I did like Prof Sterr, but she never updated grades online so your grade in the class was always a mystery. She does give you chances to improve your papers if you don't do well. Exams are insanely heavy with limited time and you do need to read A LOT. 4 textbooks required and if you don't read or attend class you won't pass. Lectures are important

Really miss Prof. Sterr, she helped get me ready for Engl. 1 and even further guided me to a great 21B teacher because I wanted more help before going college. Very kind and understanding, but don't abuse that because that's unfair to such a great Professor.

I am so blessed to have had Sterr as my English professor. I told myself that I should get a good grade if i just show up to class, always be on time, and do all my work to the best of my ability and that is exactly how things turned out. Thank you for existing, Sterr!!!

This class is sooo hard. There is a lot of reading you have to do so be prepared! If you keep up with that you should be fine. The professor is so kind and genuinely cares about mythology. You will undoubtedly be inspired!

Her class is really easy. You don't have to do the homework just really understand the things she gives you. If homework is turned in she does let you do it in class. She gives good feed back, and really helps you. Make sure you do good on papers and listen to her advice

Shes a very nice teacher, super caring and open to help in any situation. Shes very fair and can prepare u very well for English 1. But she takes a lot of time to give u feedback on your work, you dont know how well youre doing because she doesnt tell you your grades, and be prepared to read a boring book and write 2 entries per chapter.

BEST PROFESSOR at SMC! She is well respected and truly cares for her students. There is no one like her, she goes out of her way to help as much as she can for us. She is a true inspiration and very funny and casual. Go to class and turn in your homework on time and you will good to go! She may be intimidating at first but, she is a real sweetheart

Professor Sterr was one of my very first professors at SMC, she made class enjoyable. She is super sweet, approachable, and genuinely cares about her students. So don't be afraid to talk to her or ask for help. Her feedback is very clear and detailed! It really helps you improve your skills. She also gives Eng 1 waivers. Take Prof. Sterr :)

Dr. Sterr definitely a mythological scholar, the breadth of her knowledge regarding ancient mythology is amazing. Her class is fun and the stories are fun to read and analyze. Make sure you do the reading though, I would only recommend this course to serious English majors. Overall a good class, the papers are fun and the tests aren't bad.

As a person she's great. As an english teacher, well she is very distracted and seems lazy to teach the material that you're promised to learn. You pretty much teach yourself. My class focused on "careers" instead of ENGLISH. How am i suppose to get a career if I'm missing english??? Don't take for 21 A, this is more of counseling, or high school

Took her for English 21A. She was THE best! I actually enjoyed going to her class because she was so sweet and kind. Her lectures were always clear. Her feedback is phenomenal, and it certainly improved my writing skills. I felt prepared for the Common Essay and managed to receive a waiver to English 1! 5 essays + Common Essay and final! Take her!
