Horrible prof. Extremely boring. Teaches as if you have taken Ochem 250 (which I had not). Unfair Exam questions, for ex: her section of the midterm was supposed to be based on HER notes alone and a good chunk of her questions were from the second profs lectures. If you take this class make sure you take ochem 250 first and study EVERYTHING!

Comment:
Dr.Laferte is an excellent prof. She is incredibly clear in her lectures and provides students with great notes. She also gives her students a clear understanding of her expectations of knowledge for tests. I would highly recommend her to other students. BIOC isn't the easiest class but at least you have a comprehensible prof to get you through.

She's simple, easy to understand, if not always the clearest. My only recommendation is to watch out for her material at the end! She'll test stuff from the very beginning in just as much detail on the final as on the midterm. I enjoyed her.

Good prof, a bit boring but so much better than many biochem profs. Her notes are very clear, and class attendance will save you. She makes perfect sense, and answers questions in a straightforward manner. Her test questions are very fair, and as long as you came to class and followed along (and read your notes before the exam) you will do well.

Great prof. Her notes are very good but you have to be in class to fill them in. For her section of the exams, know the notes very well, all the question are from there. Also get a hold of an old exam, there much the same questions. She is very approachable and helpful.

Very good prof, a bit boring sometimes, but is very clear in lectures and had fair exam questions. Print outs of her notes are posted, but you have to add notes to them during class. Overall very good!

Great prof; good real-life examples. Liked to bring in things from her own kitchen to demonstrate. Tutorials before exams very helpful with the math aspect. If you do have Chem 250, first few lectures will be fairly boring, as they're mostly review.

A bit boring at times, but a very good instructor. The exams are easy, very straighforward, no trick questions. Look at old exams, very similar questions. Partial notes helps to make the class more interactive. Very approachable and willing to help you understand.

brutal, she was very, very boring and mellow. I don't recommend taking this class unless you have Chem 250, as she taught the material as if you already knew it (which i didn't).

She explains things well and her notes are clear. However, the class is too boring to sit through. And, she made quite a few errors while marking our midterms. . .so watch out!

I liked her notes. Im so sick of powerpoint! She wasn't as boring as I had expected her to be and if you sit closer to the front hearing her shouldn't be a problem. Her midterm was really good. Nothing tricky. The key to doing really well in this class is to do as many old midterms as you can get your hands on. Questions are very similar.
