If you read and actually think about the text, everything he says makes sense. Even though his lectures can be a little confusing with his mind maps he draws on the board, he is a really good, caring person who will help you if you're struggling. Go to office hours, he wants to hear your ideas and won't just brush them off.

He was very enthusiastic about the material, but was difficult to understand, especially when he only drew lines and circles on the board in lectures. Very smart man, but not good at relaying his thoughts to the class. Offers 1 test, 2 papers. If you don't ask him well in advance for prompts, he is liable to wait until the day before to hand it out

I had Boynton for FS101 and it was extremely difficult. I never took a Philosophy class before but it was amazing and I am very glad that I did. it was eye-opening. I was confused...most of the time, but Boynton somewhat tried to clarify things. I still didn't understand but he is AMAZING, knowledgeable, sweet, and extremely HAWT.

This class was so interesting! He's truly a smart man and so funny. You can tell that he loves what he does. The class is discussion based so be prepared to talk a lot AND work hard for your grades on papers. Best class in my schedule and best prof. However, he's my adviser as well and I feel like sometimes he doesn't give the students enough time.

Class was hard, alot of reading and re-reading material just to some what get it. Sparknotes and stuff like that helps, IF you can find it. Also not as helpful as I would have liked during office hours, he was late to meet with me by almost 20 minutes, but besides from class being hard he's an awesome professor and a nice guy!

Boynton is an enlightened cat. If you have ANY interest in theology, he will explicate it and envigorate it. Challenging ideas. Fair but tough grader. Easy to talk to. Plus, he held the world record in the bench press for his weight class when he was younger... straight from him, after much prodding.
