Dr. Dubie is one of the best professors I had at John Caroll. An excellent lecturer, Dr. Dubie is very engaging. I loved going to his U.S. History class every week! Take good notes, participate, and write strong papers: you'll do well.

Dr. Dubie's Sixties class is my favorite ever taken at Carroll. He shows movies and clips constantly, and then discusses the behind-the-scenes of the decade. He's hilarious and highly entertaining. Two short essays, one long essay, and two exams. I'd reccommend him and this class!

Awesome lecturer. Tells history like its a story, because thats the way it is. Explains motives behind decisions of past leaders. Talks like Patton Oswalt from The King of Queens. 2 three to four page papers, 1 five to six page paper (you have many topics to chose from - new every week). Midterm and a final.

Dr. Dubie is amazing. I'm a history major and originally I did not like American History much but after this class I find it interesting. His class is difficult. You don't necessarily have to read but he expects you to work hard on your papers and debate. He's very friendly and will talk with you about your grade or anything. Tests are very easy

Professor Dubie is one of the best professors I've ever had. If Marc Lynn is 1a then Dubie is 1b. I am an A student and scored an A-. He does grade the essays a little rough (2 short 1 long). Make sure you read to do well on the 3 quizzes. Midterm and Final are cake. Debate = tough (scored a B). Overall, I wouldn't take a history prof unless Dubie.

I am a conservative person. I frequently discuss politics with him and have never felt that he was eschewing me. He just likes people who can make a legitimate and intelligent comment in class. Study for the tests and pay attention in lecture, youll do better than fine. Dubie is easily my fave prof at Carroll. PS Debate = easy grade booster

Unlike some of the other posters, I didn't find him to exhibit any degree of political bias. He's a fair prof and gives some challenging assignments which provoke you to think critically instead of being difficult for the sake of being difficult. Having had a ton of other history professors, I think he's one of the best our little JCU has to offer.

Makes class interesting and is a really nice guy. Class consists of 3 papers, 2 tests, and a debate. He grades the papers pretty harshly, but his tests aren't that bad. Very easy to get a B in this class... somewhat difficult to get the A.

dubie is awesome-he even joked about his last name in like the 1st week. there is a LOT of reading involved BUT he tells you exactly what to do and there are NO tests!! class is easy- he never calls on anyone unless they volunteer, which is always nice.

Great teacher, especially since he is democrat through and through. Note taking is all that needs to be done in order to get A's on the 2 test given. He grades a little hard on papers, but thats life. GREAT TEACHER!!
