Comment:
I loved Esjornson. Her style of teaching its to lecture on Monday, give practice problems on Wednesday, and a quiz on Friday that is nearly identical to the practice problems. She has a great personality and throws cool info and stories into her lecture. If you want a more personal relationship with your professors I highly recommend taking her.

I could rave about Dr. E all day. She is by far the most student friendly professor I have ever had which makes learning a breeze. She is so caring and really strives to make sure her students are doing well and have the resources they need to succeed. She is hilarious and super energetic. Lots of (mainly easy) homework to cushion your grade.

Dr. Esjornson can be a little tough on students but as long as you show her respect and actually try to learn, you'll enjoy her as a professor. Not an easy A but not too difficult either. I really enjoyed her teaching style. She has a great personality so the lectures were never boring. Highly recommend this professor and will be taking her again.

Dr Esjornson really cares about her students. She almost wants you to be successful for than others want t for them selves. She allows test retakes and makeups. Quizzes on Fridays are over what you learn Mondays and Wednesdays.

She hands out homework left and right all time. Expect paper homework due everyday in her class and at least 5 mastering chemistry online homework assignments a week. She is tough and will yell at you if you slack off in her class, but if you respect her and talk to her and actually try in her class, you won't fail

I don't think I ever got any of my assignments back in her class, & she uses very strange terminology when she assigned "learner's reflections." She's unorganized & will do much of her grading last minute. However, she is a very kind and understanding person. I had to miss lab a few times, and just sent her an email to ask for makeup labs.

Probably the best teacher I have ever had! I hated Chemistry and had previously failed TWICE at another school, and with her I got an A! She made Chemistry so interesting and understandable, and was so much fun. I can't say enough good things about her, and I am so grateful that I had her as a teacher.

Love her humor. She is helpful and knows what she is talking about, however I wish she covered all of the material in class rather than making us watch rather time consuming videos online in our own time. Other than that she is great!

Had her for chem lab. Tests were long but straightforward. The work required for labs was mostly done in the lab, so I rarely had homework. Taking her next semester!

I took Sylvia for my Gen Chem 2 and remember it being pretty tuff. However I took her for Environmental and Industrial Chem and they were the best Chemistry courses I have ever taken. In her upper level courses she was an amazing prof, would strongly recommend her.

Would not recommend unless you already have strong background in chemistry. She assumes her students already know a lot, and only hits random topics in class. She lectures so fast she gets out of breath sometimes. Got very little from the lectures. Everything I learned in this class I learned on my own via the textbook and the online homework.

I had her for lab, now have her for lecture. She was hard to understand in lab, but extremely helpful. She seems almost to be trying to prove in lecture that we can be taught, our class is mostly people retaking the class after doing poorly with another professor last semester. Great person, very caring if she likes u, and if u try she'll like u

Unclear on expectations and flat out terrible teacher. She is a freaking joke. She is like the anti-christ and will cast a spell on your if you don't watch out. She will also freak out on you if you don't watch yourself.

Vague teacher, doesn't specify what all will and won't be on tests. Be prepared to teach yourself. I made an A, with alot of effort though.

you have to learn how to study hard and a lot on your own. she is vague at specifying what material we need to know for exams. try to do problems in book and ask her questions outside of class if you don't understand. i hated her class.

She is a very nice person, and told us if we have any problems let her know. She sucks as a teacher, she is very knowledgable but can't teach, stay far far away.
