He uses class time almost too well. It seems like he planned just enough information for the time allowed, with no time for questions. But his connections and details are so good that it makes up for it. He's just really hard and you'd better do the readings!

His notes come from his own copyrighted material which isn't always relevant to 200+ pages of reading that he assigns from the textbook that he tests on. The best way to handle his class is to treat hs lectures as an entertaining supplement while memorizing the textbook.

His class was the hardest I'd ever taken in my life. He's interesting, knowledgeable, and a very fair grader compared to how how his material is. If you're really good at history take him, otherwise you're in for a treat

Incomprehensible. Boring. The entire history department is poor, and I've disliked every history class I've taken at Murray. I'd recommend taking your history classes anywhere but at MSU and transfering them back here for your degree.

Mr. Strieter is one of the most interesting teachers I have ever had. It is clear that this guy knows exactly what he is talking about. My only problem is that he assigns copious amounts of reading per week, up to 200 pages at one point, and then chooses 5 of the most obscure questions possible to ask on his quizzes.

Dr. Strieter is the best teacher I have ever had. I took classes from him as an undergraduate and graduate and he was my favorite teacher. He epitomizes the word integrity and is the kindest and most knowledgeable teacher at Murray State. He is absolutely worshipped by graduate students.

Took him for French Revolution. He gives long and boring lectures, and gives no clue what the IDs are for the exams. Helpful outside of class. The paper wasn't bad- 7 pages.

His notes made sense to him, but no one else. Especially if he missed class and you got a sub professor, you had no clue what he means by his overhead notes.

He expects and requires a lot, but does allow possible 50 bonus points. Weekly quizzes over 20 pages of reading from the Esler book(3 questions) and 10 pages from the Wolf book(2 questions). The Wolf book you discuss in class, be sure to remember the similarities and differences between the two persons. 1 paper, I got A- but took 15 hours to write

He is a huge @@@hole! He acts like he is teaching high school... I got in trouble for sneezing one day. He calls on people and asks them why they missed a question on a quiz. The only good thing is he misses class alot but of course he doesnt cancel he gets a sub!

If you like mindless memorization of terms, dates, and people, definitely take him. However, if you are wanting a quality education based on comprehesion and application of general principles, stay away. Everything is very regimented and organized, which makes it very easy to follow. However, Streiter is very exact and grades very harsh.

He was fine the first semester I had him but after that he was an a**hole the second. Make sure you have him look over your term paper before you turn it in.
