Comment:

His lectures are very long and boring and his tests do not specifically cover everything he talks about. He gives an attendance grade and assigns one big paper which helps your grade tremendously. He also gives basically unlimited extra credit. Tests are very tough though.

Dr. Rose is a kind man when you speak to him personally, but he isn't the best professor. He crams info down your throat during a horribly boring lecture. Most of what he talks about in class isn't even covered on his tests. His assignments make no sense, and he makes you redo them if your opinion doesn't line up with his. Also very conservative.

TERRIBLE. WOULDNT HELP THE STUDENTS. MADE THE TEST EXTREMLY DIFFICULT TO "prove a point" will NEVER take him again. Lectures are long and all over the place.

Professor Rose is an excellent teacher if you like a quiet class where everyone listens intently to the professor. It is very much a lecture and he does not like students talking but that makes it excellent for actual course study. Take him especially if you are republican; either way, he is brilliant.

Dr. Rose is a wonderful teacher! I love his classes because he challenges his students to actually learn things! He has an enjoyable teaching style and really wants his students to learn! I may not get my best grades out of Dr. Rose's classes, but I actually learn, and that is worth so much more!!!

I dreaded taking this class honestly but then when I got to class I realized politics is not so bad. Dr. Rose will help you and made me want to go to class. He is so full of knowledge and his stories will get you laughing and interested.

Dr. Rose is a old fashion teacher, he has been teaching 40+ years. He cares about his student and expect you to know more when you leave his class than when you alk in. If you are looking for an easy A he is NOT the teacher you are looking for. If your in school to learn and educate yourself he will help you every way he can.

Dr. Rose is a fantastic professor, and I would highly recommend taking him. I've had him for both 261 and 443, and plan on taking him again. He is very conservative, and I am not, but I can still appreciate his intelligence and perspective. His classes are not overly difficult, although you will have to put forth some effort.

He is my favorite professor I have ever had at MSU. His classes are a bit hard, until you're familiar with how he is about things. But he is one of the few professors out there who really does care about his students & their achievements, both in & out of class, which makes him an amazing professor. Highly recommend - just don't give up quickly.

The class is easy if you don't mind a proffesor that shoves his political and religious views down your throat. I thought he was highly offensive. Though the class is easy, I would definitely recommend a different proffesor, especially if you are in the least bit liberal.

Dr. Rose is very conservative and old fashioned. I did not like him at all at the beginning of the semester but I have grown to respect him a great deal. His tests are quite difficult but the weekly quizzes give you the opportunity for extra points. I enjoyed this class a lot and would certainly recommend it. You just have to be willing to work.

Dr. Rose is an amazing teacher and an amazing person. If you truly pay attention, you won't even need to take notes, though it is advised. He does nothing but lecture and give handouts (no BlackBoard), so you MUST attend to do well. And don't say anything you can't back up, or he may very well make you look foolish. Oh, and the tests are huge.
