Davies is a good guy. He likes what he teaches and you can tell, he's not too boring and the readings aren't awful. You do have to read though. There are four essays and its easy to get a B on each, A's are harder to come by but easy B's. You do have to go to class its part of your grade. Overall good guy, taking him again.

just go to class and write down what is discussed in class. offer your opinion, he likes participation... doesn't really matter if its right as long as you can somehow back it up. the papers are easy to get a B, but i still have not found a way to get an A on one. Overall, take him. He's better than the other profs you could get stuck with.

His class is easy. Pay attention to what he says so you can incorporate them into your essays. It's easy to get a B in the essays, but you have to work hard to get an A. Quizzes are easy if you read the readings and listen to him in class.

Really nice guy. Classes are fun and interesting. Not the easiest grader on papers. Real easy to get a B/B- but very hard to get in the A range like most LCS classes.

Davies is a good guy who is very pationate about literature and writes a lot of critical essays on what he teaches. There are a lot of reading assignments but papers and tests (2) are not bad. Pretty relaxed guy and class.

There are reading assignments every night, but most are only 10-20 pages so its not too bad. He gives a few quizzes but they are easy if you pay attention in class, and you get to use your notes. Essay prompts at first appear difficult, but if you write something close to what he's asking for, you'll at least get a B. Real funny teacher.

Great guy, great class! Lots of reading and quizzes on the readings but it's broken down enough so you can keep up without a struggle. Exams on the readings weren't hard. Allowed to use the books and type them on your laptop if you wanted to. Really laid back professor, one of the best I had for my ECS classes!

Very smart, especially concerning the subject he teaches- something colleges need to take into consideration when fricken hiring people. Students actually come out of his classes as better writers. Nice guy, very helpful, great professor in every necessary aspect.

Davies is the man... even though his class might not be that easy, but he's clear about what he wants. He def. made me a better writer... not too mention he's really easy to get along with, almost never in a bad mood... and throws in an occasional joke here and there. One of the few professors who you really enjoy and manages to teach you alot too

Davies is a pretty cool guy. Anyone who can make talking about political novels for an hour remotely not mind numbing is okay in my book. He does give reading quizzes, but he usually offers some kind of make-up assignment for bad grades, and he drops the lowest one. Overall, nice guy, fairly interesting, smart, and not overly difficult.

Real Cool guy. Make sure you read cuz his quizzes will pop out of nowhere.. and then he will begin to swear that you are the only class he is taking. Great Class. Assignments are fair and so is his grading.

Davies is the man. There is no wrong answer to a question because he believes that the students can have opinions different than his...rare among english professors. The papers arnt overly difficult, but he does grade them thuroughly. Unless you completely ditch class and put no effort into the papers, you'll do fine and have fun in the process.

Prof. Davis is a cool guy. He does give out a quiz every other week or so to make sure you read... but his class isn't too hard and he will help you out if you fall behind... He's also funny as hell and you will def. have a good laugh with him... He knows a lot of the students at Bryant aren't lit people but you'll have a good time with Davies...

He's a cool guy and a good teacher for what he does...but I just didn't have alot of interest in Literature...I'm more of a non-fiction reader. Class discussions are extensive and you have to know SOMETHING to not look like a half wit in class. He is know to give 3 question pop quizzes at the beginning of class to check and make sure you read what you were assigned. They are a good chunk of your grade but easy if you did your reading. There is alot of reading of course...many times 100+ pages.
