I am taking his online class. His audio lectures are long, unfortunately, I have a very difficult time hearing and understanding what he says. It sounds like he's reading from a book or something. He is not a very good presenter, he talks a lot while his slides are short. I hope reading the slides is enough for exams. Avoid him if you can.

Tough teacher. Exams are difficult (TF and short answer), class got a low average (70%) and he still didn't curve it. Barely used the book, didn't learn from his lecture or notes. Did good on the assignments but somehow did bad on the project. Frustrating professor!

For being the main AI teacher, I found this pathetic. I've learned more AI from friends and online communities. Exams are absurd--4 true/false questions should not be 20% of the points. My grade does not reflect my knowledge of the course. Help was useless. He's impressed with a 60% midterm average--that should tell you his expectations.

Firstly, this is a difficult subject to teach due to its variant nature (as used in industry).He is VERY knowledgeable and helpful;I would take any class from Dr. Ryu.Most test questions were derived from his notes and lecture.If you read-ahead, pay attention, do the work, you should get an 'A.'

I hate to admit it, but I actually learned DBA level SQL...But this class is not for the faint of heart...It was hard! If you are a girly-student and afraid to risk your wittle GPA, steer clear, whiner baby. RYU is not going to give you the light version, but he is a nice guy. He even gave us a freebie quiz to increase our grade.

prof Ryu is very knowledgeable. he will teach you everything. his notes are perfect. his homeworks are the most amount of you you will EVER do in your life. tests are VERY long, and VERY difficult. I worked for his class more than I worked for classes combined in my entire life

Prof. Ryu knows the stuff very well. He teaches okay but he's got excellent lec. notes. His homeworks and exams are SOOO hard and time consuming. I already knew the material very well and died to barely get an A. He makes you spend lots of time on stupid repetitive tasks. At the end, you will learn sometime :)

I took this class in the summer. DO NOT TAKE THIS CLASS IN THE SUMMER. Excellent professor in term of knowledge on the subject. The project is simple, just put lots of time into it. He lets you use LAPTOPS, lecture notes, books on exams [IF NO ONE COMPLAINS...] so if you dont have a laptop, suck it up and dont ruin it for others.

HIGHLY knowledge about web development and databases. He knows everything. His lectures are a little dry, but very informative. Projects are not too difficult, and very practical. Overall, a good teacher. I don't recommend taking this class in the Summer. 5 weeks is too fast for all the material.

Nice guy. The lectures are boring unless you prepare for class by reading the chapter and/or PowerPoint slides on his website prior to class. He is very helpful outside of class, especially through email. He is unclear on what needs to be studied for his tests, so you have to study everything.

He is boring, but if you make it through the lectures, the notes he provides on his website are great. His tests aren't easy, but they're open note. It wasn't easy, but there are much worse professors at out school.
