I'll second the nepotism comment. And this dumb rivalry she has with Yue-Hashimoto where they schedule their classes in overlapping time slots--despite that both series are required for Chinese majors--is complete nonsense. The UW is paying you to educate people, not aggrandize your ego.

Be careful when going to her office hours. It is like entering the dragon's lair. She will seriously eat you up (yell at you) if she doesn't like you. I wonder why she even has office hours.

Condescending and arrogant. I am a graduate student, sitting for this class for the 2nd time. She is teaching this class for her husband since he is on leave. Her husband teaches it 50 times better. All she does is word for word from the outline.
