I took Intro to Film Studies online from Tamara Weets. It was a horrible class. she isn't very clear with directions on papers or assignments. She would post rubrics for a paper but it wasn't specific to the paper. It was a general rubric that was used for each paper. She is also a very very tough grader. AVOID HER AT ALL COSTS

Comment:

Lit & Self-Society is overall an interesting course. Ms. Weets is lively and engaging and class discussions were always great. She is creative and a very nice person. However, be weary of the workload and papers...I missed out on a lot because of homework for this class, sometimes directions were unclear, and she definitely grades hard.

Loved her. She's helpful, funny, young and one of the best teachers I've ever had. She's a brilliant woman with lots to teach, don't take this class if you're not committed.

She gives a rubric out for papers but it's still UNCLEAR why you got the grade you did. She wants you to write HER paper and write to her liking. She is unapproachable and belittles students. I dread going to class everyday. i never liked writing but it shouldn't have to be this hard for a 100 level FRESHMEN REQUIRED COURSE! take her=you'll cry

I really like her at the beginning, but by halfway through the semester I could not stand her. The person who said she patronizes was completely correct, and she OBVIOUSLY picks favorites. And it's true, she seems not to realize that it is an INTRO level class. AVOID HER!

I really enjoyed Ms. Weets in Eng 150 but have heard from others that they did not like her in IWC 100. She is VERY smart and also very opinionated, we had great class discussions. She is a very hard grader but wants you to do well and gives you a ton of help if you seek it. It seems that she picks favorites so make sure you stay on her good side!

Ms. Weets rocks!! She works very hard to make sure her students aren't under preassure to complete assignments and will voluntarily push back assign. so that her students have more time to complete them. She is incredibly willing to help her students complete their work and goes way out of her way!

Class discussions are very interesting.She expects students to do a TON of reading and other work, but most of the time it is interesting.The thing is: info on the tests are far from discussion info.Question: why tests on stuff that we read once on our own and never spoke of again? Great teacher.

She was very accessible and extremely helpful. While good looking, she is an exceptional professor. I would reccomend taking her class if at all possible. Completely fair in her grading.
