Comment:
Tamara Wilson, while a respected professor, is a very tough grader, as well as a tough person to get along with. If your personal views differ even slightly from hers, she will not speak with you whatsoever. She does not stay on track with the syllabus, and does not care much about personal matters. I would steer clear of her.

She can be very judgmental. Takes forever to grade papers which is a real hindrance when trying to improve upon your work. Offers criticism but most of the times it is not very constructive. She tells you what is wrong but won't tell you how you can improve/fix your mistakes. Hates cliches.

Dr Wilson means well but her criticisms are often not constructive anf feel more like insults than anything. She accepts discussion in class, but if you have a different opinion be ready for condesension.

Tamara Wilson means well, but she has a tendency to make her students uncomfortable addressing touchy subjects in not the most respectful ways. If your opinions or styles differ from hers in any way there will be a penalty. ( I figure her rubrics just say is this something I would say word for word?)

I'll tell you right now - if you want an easy A, steer clear. Not only is she a hard grader, but she unreasonable when grading. She's rude to students by calling them out in front of the whole class on personal things and she's hard to understand when she gives instructions. You can't win with her, I dread going to her class. Stay away.

Being a tough grader is fine, but often in her class I do not know what she expects because there is no syllabus. She seems like a nice person but makes me uncomfortable in class. I do appreciate how due dates are so easily bended, she will accept assignments that are very late.

One of the best, and hardest, professors I've ever taken. She knows her stuff very well, and expects a lot from her students, but it's because she believes all of them are capable of what she asks. I enjoyed her class but she is no joke. She gives good grades, but be prepared to work for it. She loves it when students join in the discussion.

Mrs. Wilson seemed like a great teacher, turns out she is the opposite. You cannot ask her a question without her cutting you off and either being condescending or rude about it. She acts like she knows everything and makes you email her for every little thing. She is not a good first year teacher, too rude and uptight. Not very helpful either 0/10

Dr. Wilson is hard to please. She is a super tough grader. The assignments are mostly 4-5 page papers, but they need to be really good. Best advice for getting a good grade is going to her office hours. She will rip apart your paper with no regard for your feelings, but your grade will be better for it. Be prepared to work.

Dr. Wilson is a very nice woman. Her class content is pretty interesting but her lectures are disorganized. Her tests are super hard but the essays are pretty clear. If you dont read then you will not pass. She will give pop quizzes if you dont read. Come to class with stuff to say.

Dr. Wilson is extremely opinionated and often not constructive with criticism. Her lectures are disorganized and frankly unhelpful. Lots of reading, but the workload is doable by all means.

If you're looking for an easy A, I wouldn't suggest this class. She challenges you, but won't give you anything you're not up for. She has little tolerance for people who don't care, but if you look like you do- she'll notice! She's a lot kinder than she appears and LOVES when people show up for office hours! Give her time and she'll grow on you.

The discussions are lively and intriguing. Encourages critical thinking. You are going to have to actually work in this class- some difficult reading. Tests and in-class essays are challenging but not impossible. Assigned essay topics are vague- leaves room to pick your own topic. Happy to go out of her way to help you succeed if you ask for it.

I took this class as a part of my LC and enjoyed it to an extent. YOU MUST READ to pass. Gives reading quizzes when lots of people are absent. The papers she assigns are a bit vague as you pick your own prompt and stories to write about. No guidelines except for page requirements and such. Her lectures are engaging and easy to take notes.

Extremely odd feminist, and Buffy freak. Lectures are her reading and giving her opinion on the text, if you disagree with her, prepare to be shot down. Not engaging, not helpful with papers, takes months to grade and return your work. Made me frustrated and stressed, be careful!

Never gives clear guidelines as to what she wants in a paper or a presentation. You cover so much material in so little time. I think she might favor girls a little bit.

I really didn't care for her at first, but she does kind of grow on you, and I think it is because you can tell how much she loves lit. She makes comments super fast, I struggled to write them all and keep it straight. Some comments she makes are uncomfortable, but she does relate material. I barely read, 'BS'ed tests and got an 'A'. Talks down...

She can be kind of smug sometimes, and doesn't like to explain her assignments in detail. Lectures consist almost entirely of her reading line after line from the text and giving her thoughts on them. Expect lots of writing. Her comments on papers are very thorough and helpful, however. Don't get her started on Buffy if you can help it.

Dr. Tamara Wilson is my favorite professor at Flagler. She is always there for the students and is the most readily available professor in terms of meeting for extra help. She is clear in class and while she may go off on tangents, they are interesting and engaging. She makes her opinions readily known, which I prefer to lying.
