Worst teacher I've ever had. She is very confusing. She assumes that you know what she is talking about when teaching a new concept. She uses online homework that is very confusing to use and she has no control over the homework. If you are a self learner and love chemistry you'll be fine in her class but if not your in for a headache

Tamis is one of the best teachers I've had by far!! So willing to help as long as you are willing to put in the time. Is always willing to stay after and discuss any questions you may have. Wish I could have her for a teacher again!!

She is a great teacher. I completed her class with an A. She's very generous, so you'll easily pass. I came in having no Chem background at all. The best part about her is that she provides exam reviews that are almost exact to the actual exam. Very organized and concise. Her lectures are fantastic and easy to understand. Definitely recommend her!

She is a great teacher. I got an A in her class. She's very organized and concise during lectures. The best part about her is the fact that she provides exam reviews that are almost similar to the actual exams. She's very generous, so you can easily pass. I didn't even have a Chem background prior to this. I definitely recommend you take her class!

Worst teacher ever. I made the mistake of taking her after not being in school for seven years. If you have not done chemistry in years don't take her. She would lecture and when she was almost done with a problem she would realize she had done the whole thing wrong and start over. Not helpful your book will be your best friend if you want lear

Tamis is great! Explains things until you understand, gives practice tests to make sure you do well on the tests and breaks the information down in a way you can understand what is going on. Highly recommend. Read some of the negative comments and can't believe them; she is fair, wants you to succeed and has not once been rude or disrespectful!

Prof. Root is one of those teachers where you need to be on her good side. I like her though! Her voice bothered me, but she's a good teacher and knows what she's talking about. She gives sample tests that are similar to the actual test which helped a lot. Chem is not an easy subject to begin with, but she stays after class for any help needed!

She's not the clearest teacher but her syllabus is clear. You'll be fine if you're a self starter. Certainly don't expect her to dump knowledge into your brain. Try to take Math 111 first. You'll be better off if you understand the algebra- I didn't do any of the calculations the way she did as my way made more sense to me. I got an A.

She was the WORST teacher I have ever had! She never answered any questions, didn't care if you weren't understanding, and is just plain rude! I have never been so mistreated by a teacher in my entire life. I have always been a straight A student, and she failed me on every single thing I did. I DO NOT recommend her!!!!

This was the first time I have ever taken chemistry. Tamis was a great teacher. When you didn't understand something she did a great job at re-explaining a different way so you could understand. Tamis does expect you to have some chemistry experience, so be sure you do because she doesn't spend a lot of time on the beginning Chemistry things.

The teacher didn't do as much teaching as you expect from an instructor. It essentially felt like an independent studies course but within a classroom. Also, her lack of involvement in the classroom also makes the subject very uninteresting. Basically, with this class and teacher, you will be teaching yourself.

I took this class with no Chemistry experience. So finding a good teacher was important to me. Based on this website, she sounded good but boy was I wrong. I have nothing against her but her teaching skills suck! She never tells you what chapter she's on, when she is lecturing and is not very organized. Her voice is very boring which didn't help!

I was a little skeptical before taking this class, but I love her! She helps you on anything you need help with, and takes her time explain. She wants everyone to understand before completely moving on. Even taking this in the summer, which i thought would be death, hasn't been anywhere near as bad as I thought it was foing to be. I Recommend her!!

Easygoing and laidback. She takes her time explaining and welcomes questions even after class. Great teacher. I want her for 131 if she teaches it. If you stress out, this is the teacher for you, she keeps it chill.

Excellent teacher, hard class. I wished I had taken 050. I was so lost, but thanks to Tamis, I managed an A. She really takes the time to answer questions and never makes you feel stupid. Even when I had to ask the same question more than once, she would just smile and try to find a new way to explain. She is a wonderful teacher!

It had been many years since I took a chemestry class and Chem. 121 is a manditory prerequsite class for Micro.& A&P. Professor Root made the class interesting and she was very helpful. She was willing to take the time to make sure that I understood the material. I can't recommend her class strong enough. She is an awsome professor.

I really thought Tamis did a good job of teaching this class. Chemistry is a hard subject and you need to study. I would strongly recommend Chem 050 because it makes 121 a breeze.
