Comment:

This professor is good and I learned a lot from her. Despite the fact that you must be prepared to take lots of notes and review daily, she is a professor that really knows her information and can answer almost every question that you may have. Attending review sessions are helpful, but studying a few days in advance is always better.

Comment:

I had Tammy for two upper level classes, ornithology and primatology and she was awesome. Her teaching style is hard to get used to straight out of high school but really set me up to understand not just regurgitate the material on tests. She was also my advisor and genuinely wants students to succeed. Adored her.

She is a super hard grader. Lots of homework. Her quizzes are formatted nicely!!! Her power points are structured well. She allows no laptops expect if you have a note from the school. Her lectures are extremely boring. Dont skip. You will miss so much.

This professor is beyond amazing. Her classes are so interesting and easy to follow. If you do the work, you will be rewarded. I cannot imagine a better professor throughout all of my years attending Drew. She is so humble and kind and I truly cannot imagine anyone saying anything negative about her! If you have the chance, take one of her classes.

I have taken 3 classes with Tammy - Ecol & Evolution, Tropical Marine Ecol, and Animal Behavior. She's not an easy professor, but if you put in the work and effort, ask questions & let her know you're going above and beyond-she is AMAZING! I put in much more time & effort for her classes but in the end got all A's and a great LOR for PA school!

Dr. Windfelder is definitely not an easy teacher - if bio isn't your passion/doesn't come naturally to you, try and get another professor. While she is INCREDIBLY personable and really makes the effort to help you, she's just a difficult professor because she loves the subject and knows her stuff.

Great professor. Her lectures were always clear and well-thought out. Exams and quizzes were very fair; if you take notes and study, they're easy. She's extremely nice and really passionate about biology. Definitely an awesome professor, especially if this is your first college biology class.

Wonderful professor! She cares about her students and loves to teach. She does have very lengthy exams (10+ pages) but if you take notes and use her powerpoints and the book as study tools you will do well. Animal behavior class with her was definitely fun and informative!

Excellent professor; explains new information well with various diagrams. Every Biology professor at Drew should take teaching courses from her. They would actually learn a lot and not have students sleeping in class. My favorite professor! I wish she taught every Bio class at Drew!

Very nice lady, and very helpful if you don't understand something. The class was interesting, but her exams are insane, they are REALLY LONG (10 pages usually) and difficult. You need to remember a lot of details and each exam covers bewteen 350 to 500 powerpoint slides. The final covered about 1,700 slides.
