Tanya Whiton is crass. In my brief time as a ?student? of hers I learned absolutely nothing. As others have said, she seems to prefer some students over others and doesn?t bother trying to hide it. She threw a temper tantrum and screamed at everyone if one or two students came to class unprepared. I mentioned to her that I was heaving health issues

She's a pretty likeable woman. She lets you know what she wants out of you and expects it done how she says. Her essay questions are usually very complicated but if asked nicely, like it has been said, she will go into further detail. she was very understanding when i had a family situation arise and I was going to be out of class for a few days.

Unclear essay questions, but willing to explain in more depth. Fairly easy if you pay attention and do your work. Pretty laid back and funny, I'm not really into English, but I've always done well if her classes.

I think she might grade based on who she likes. She is a fair grader, but at times it makes you wonder... I put my all into my poems and never got above an 85. However, she gives tons of extra credit, so it brought my final grade to a 97. But she is a little bit of a brat and I felt older than her most of the time.Unclear in writing assignments

I found her class to be very interesting. She comes off like she is a hard grader but if you do your revisions and actually change things in your poetry and short story, she rewards you. I loved her class! It was always fun and relaxed.

Like any class, if you do the work, attend class, & pay attention you'll be fine. Whiton's friendly & crack jokes & tells little stories, but she likes to keep the class focused & in-control. I do agree w/ the last poster's comment about the grading of poetry, so that's probably my only complaint.

I didnt really care for her grading system. Poetry should be graded for the effort put in, not how much the professor likes it. Also, the amount of work can be overwhelming at times because she gives you a research paper,15 page story to write, and homework all at once.She didnt teach us about stanzas until after our 5th poem,which hurt our grades

very difficult...I found that she has a very hard grading system and is not very clear about it until you get your paper back and see a D on it or something to that affect. I do not feel she was helpful in that sense of feeling comfortable to talk to her..

tanya came across pretty harsh in the first class but it quickly became obvious she is a nice and fairly laid-back professor. also, as noted before, she is VERY HOT. like a bookish cindy crawford. for the final, our class went to a poetry reading and then out to a bar! A+

Tanya is BANGIN. super hot for a college teacher and shes young and down to earth to boot. The subject is pretty boring but she does what she can to keep it interesting. Lots of papers though and all with a minimum length of 5 pages, but all in all shes an awsome teacher.
