If you get a chance take a Lit course with Tara! We studied the gothic novel, reading as many as 200 pages between classes- it was a good load of reading. However, Tara did an amazing job initiating meaningful class discussion. Great environment, open and informative teacher, followed the syllabus, and told exactly what to expect on assignments!

The reading and discussion part of the class was interesting, but when it came to lessons and writing skills, I dont think I learned anything. Tara is a very nice and helpful person, but I found it really hard to get excited about this class.

Tara is supportive, laid-back and creates a wonderful classroom environment. She is super happy to help at all times and always seems to be cheerful. Her essay assignments challenged me to try new things everytime although, I must say that the class disccusions paled next to to the ones I expereinced in AP English in high school.

I pretty much enjoyed this class. The Native American aspect wasn't really my thing, but it proved to be a bit interesting. I got tired of all the reading logs, but in the end it was an easy A. I would recommend this class.

What a great professor. This was one of the first english classes that I actually enjoyed. You do have to plan on attending the class though. She is very helpful and is always available if you need help. I highly recommend her.

Great Teacher! Always willing to help. Very open minded. Really easy to talk to. If English is not your subject she is a great Professor to work with. Any English teacher requires Attendance to be Mandatory. You'll read a lot but you'll learn a lot as well. I recommend her to anyone.

to be this boring should be a sin, in my eyes it is. she spends over half a class reviewing the assignment sheets that are 5 times as long as they need to be--very repetitive. the way she talks is drawn out and boring as well. and her assingments and grading style for essays don't conform well with the purpose of english 101! take S.Lynch!

Tara is an excellent teacher, and as long as you are seriously interested in Tolkien's writings this class was very thorough. Her approachability was very helpful, and she was very fair on all the grading for tests and quizzes-Just be prepared to read!

Tara is a great teacher. Our class (Native American Lit) was often set up like an open forum for discussion. This style of teaching works well for me and Tara did an amazing job facilitating it every day. If you have a chance to (or need to) take an english class, take one from Tara!
