Comment:

This is a great class to know if you are up for the challenge of architecture. Tarik really makes the lectures entertaining and fun. Make sure you keep up with the sketches, he takes them up around mid-terms and finals. Sketchbook, Midterm, Final Grade Go to class!

Comment:

He take's attendance every day and more than 2 unexcused absences will automatically fail you. The 2 sketches and 2 journal entries a day are a pain but it you do them, you will pass the class. The "Beautiful Place" project isn't hard at all. That being said, I love his class. The comments he makes are hilarious and his "lectures" are inspiring.

Comment:

Tarik requires 2 sketches and 2 journal entries a day, so it's very easy to get behind. It's very satisfactory in the end - you'll be a much better sketcher and he discusses some pretty interesting stuff. The class is required to enter the architecture program and grading is based on satisfactory/unsatisfactory.

This class requires you to do two sketches and two journals every single day from start until the final. You have one midterm project that was a lot of fun and a final. Other than the sketchbooks that is it. If you do not do them and do not go to class you will fail.

good guy- but he has got kind of an attitude. if you want to be in arch you have got to understand that its a lot of work and his class will help you understand this- do all your sketches. if you do you will pass his class. But if you are taking his class go ahead and tell your friends goodbye cause your about to be consumed by architecture- enjoy!

This class is a "weed-out" class. Sketchbooks are the hardest thing to keep up with, especially if you are in foundation unit. TA's grade beautiful place project and sketchbooks. DO YOUR SKETCHES. they don't have to be great to pass, just complete. he calls role unpredictably every week and a half or so.

If you're in first year studio as opposed to the summer option,his class may seem redundant and a waste of time. Go to class if he hasn't taken attendance in a while, phone in your "beautiful place" project, fall asleep in his class if you must, but be sure to do your sketchbook. Grade=sketchbook. Prepare to have no life. Just tell all your friends goodbye. The sketches are ridiculous and his class seriously has nothing to do with Architecture. We discussed the meaning of "beautful", and it didn't matter what we said, we were all wrong according to him.

Prof. Orgen is a really nice guy. I enjoyed the class. I agree with some of the others though- he definitely has a weakness for the pretty ladies. If you are an attractive girl, you will get an A. Its that simple.

Dr. Orgen is an excellent professor. The class is so very easy and you learn so much. Also, he is very wise and gives such good advice. I was having problems with my boyfriend and Dr. Tarik was able to really help me out. He would often meet me for lunch at the Terra Cotta Cafe. How many professors would be willing to do that? A true guru.

Professor Orgen is a great professor. He will engage you in interesting conversations and toward the end of the semester, he showed us slides most of the time. Sketchbooks are difficult to keep up with but if you enjoy sketching, you should have no trouble at all.

Great discussions in class, but don't necessarily have to attend. If you plan on skipping, have a friend call you if he's taking attendance - you can come in late and still be counted! The most important thing is to do your sketchbook - if you do your sketches and journals, you pass the class - that's it!

Comment:

Very nice guy and funny, but hard to understand with his accent. The sketch books are painful, but if you like drawing, you'll enjoy it. Hard to get an A in there, but possible. Talk to him, he likes his students, especially when they seem genuinely interested. I look forward to having him again in the future.
