DO NOT TAKE THIS CLASS. Super boring, lectures are pointless, he just rambles. TONS of mandatory reading and summaries every week. 3 essays, tough midterm. DON'T DO IT!

Prof. Hall's lectures are quite boring but informative. He assigned weekly reading and writing assignments that I slacked off on without much consequence. My class wrote three essays that incorporated the reading. The tests were straightforward, half multiple choice half free response. There's nothing special about Hall, so don't expect much.

A lot of reading, but the concepts are fairly easy. The class is pretty interesting even though he goes off on tangents a lot. Midterm was difficult, final wasn't. The TAs greatly help with the essays and help you narrow down or find a topic. Not an easy A, but it is possible. Must, must read the articles, which are usually lengthy and dense.

Lectures are incredibly boring-I fell asleep numerous times. Important concepts get lost in Hall's frequent rambling. Assigned article reading is absolutely mandatory to getting a good grade. I only began to understand the class after four other students and I teamed up to study. Overall, avoid him.

Extreme left-wing bias. Tries to pass liberal propaganda off as factual information. Rambles incoherently about irrelevant personal anecdotes. Teaches you nothing. Avoid at all costs

His lectures are very boring and hard to follow. The readings are extremely hard to understand, and the discussion sections really don't make it any easier.

Comment:
During lectures, most of the time he just reads off of the powerpoint and occasionally he'll elaborate on something that's not on there. Some of the readings can be interesting and others can be a nightmare. Discussion section tends to clear up some of the "I don't get it" parts of the week's lectures.

His tests were extremely hard. I studied well and I felt very confident and ended up finding the wording on the test to be very tricky. The readings are mostly interesting, some are impossible to understand. There are three term papers, that depending on your TA, can be difficult.

He talks like he's an elitist and makes up words, the tests are ridiculously hard, and the TA's grade really hard on the 3 5 page papers assigned. The topics were interesting, but the readings on the topics were supposed to be read with a dictionary at hand...yeah. So watch out, this is not an easy class.

Professor Hall is such an interesting guy! His lectures aren't the most extravagant but the information is interesting and he really knows what he's talking about. He's always available to help or just chat. The class is more religion than sociology and involves a long term paper but definitely a reasonable class, I loved it.

Professor Hall is a pretty boring guy. He can be kinda funny once in a blue moon. But its kinda hard to not fall asleep in class. Its not that bad of a class though. Three 4-5 page papers, somewhat a lot of reading. Attendance is a must. Tests aren't too hard, just make sure you study and do all the readings and you should be okay.

The things we learnt in class were extremely interesting but the professor is INCREDIBLY BORING!!!!! you have to write 3 essays, which is good if you are great at writing, if not its probably not the best choice for you. Tests are pretty easy though, just READ what he tells you read and STUDY and make sure you UNDERSTAND the concepts.

this class is extremely boring and difficult. professor has a monotonous voice and uses a lot of big words so its hard to understand what he's saying and pay attention. a LOT of reading. three 4-5 page essays. he doesn't post his powerpoints online so attendance is a must. dont take this class unless you like a lot of reading and writing

Smart guy, not the easiest class but could be worse. Grading is pretty fair and attendance is vital. Learn what he believes in and write about it. Best way to get an A. Lots of reading though.
