I am not a huge fan of this prof. He's my advisor, and he's easily the worst advisor at UNC's Psy department. This guy said, straight to my face that he had no idea what I was doing in psychology, and that I should consider switching majors. I love psychology and thankfully he didn't kill that. I am avoiding his classes like the plague. Worthless.

I learned so much in this class. It was incredibly interesting and Bashore is a good teacher. But he is also overly ridiculous about his tests. You have to memorize everything from lectures and the textbook word-for-word. If you don't work hard, you WILL fail. Badly.

Studying hard for the tests and taking time to learn the material did not help. On the test I would have the correct answer, but with different wording so I got marked off. There isn't much work outside class, but the passing a test was nearly impossible because of his grading.

This teacher is the worst I have ever had here. I studied for his tests for hours, knew the material, and then was marked off for incorrect language even when my answers were correct. More people fail this class than pass. Take a different class if at all possible

Dr. Bashore is an excellent professor. He is extremely knowledgeable. His class is very hard, and he knows that. He is ALWAYS willing to help student out so if you're struggling go to him for help. Read the book for the quizzes, and memorize your notes for tests (take good notes!). He takes points off for spelling and non-technical writing.

Dr. Bashore is the single greatest professor that I have ever had. His class is hard, but as long as you study hard then you will do decently in his class. He is super flexible & helpful whenever you need it. He is very intelligent & expects you to be motivated to try and match him. If you don't like putting effort into classes then don't take him.

I took Theories of Personality with Bashore. He is extremely intelligent and knows the material very well. From day one, he expects his students to engage in and know the material. This is not an easy professor by any means. If you dive into the material and genuinely enjoy the material, you will love this class. Best class Ive had in 3 years.

Dr. Bashore is an extremely intelligent man. But I feel that with age his enthusiasm and clarity has faded. He will help you if you ask and the best advice I can give you is that you go to every class take a tape recorder and pray that he stays on topic. Otherwise don't take his class especially any spec topics class he teaches.

He was a nice guy, but he just wasn't a great teacher. He covered a very small range of relevant material over the entire semester. No matter how hard I studied/asked for help/prayed, I still did poorly on every exam. I would strongly advise not taking a class with him if you can help it.

I took at least two classes with Dr. Prof. Bashore. Eminently superb. But I do recall an eleven page--all essay final exam. Not for the uncommitted. Dr. Bashore recommends reading the entire textbook...twice.

Dr. Bashore leads a very challenging class, but the material is incredibly interesting. I learned so much from him. Ask a question and he will have a very in-depth explanation. You must study hard for this class, or you won't survive. However, if you do study it will be extremely rewarding in every way.

Professor Bashore's classes are pretty difficult, but he is an extremely helpful professor and one of the few that actually cares about his students. As long as you show effort, come to his class, and work to improve, he'll do anything he can to help you learn the stuff - not just for tests, but for life. Awesome Professor.

Over this semester I have really come to appreciate this professor. Yes, he is hard, but you will not learn more from, another professor. His lectures were very interesting and filled with personal accounts. If you study hard for his tests you'll do just fine. He is an amazing professor. I highly recommend him.

Mean to students and tries to complicate simple subjects and ideas. A very poor professor. Had to drop the class after a week as he offended many students with his comments and repeatedly stated the high failure rate of his class.
