Based all reading articles and the 8 page paper at the end of the course he gives you will have nothing to write for even a page. Someone dies and you miss class , cant turn it in. He can go on vacation every other day, he thinks hes funny its just uncomfortable hell tell you lack common sense idk how he still works there tbh good luck

Professor Johnson is extremely arrogant. One of his favorite things to discuss was his love life and how he was always traveling so his life was so much better than students. There's no textbook in this seminar, just A LOT of readings every week and an essay every few weeks. He grades pretty easily so that's okay but the class is just unbearable.

There is no textbook or homework just long fine print documents you need to print off and go to class with. He will bore you to tears just reading his lecture notes. Toward the end of the semester only about 10 out of like 50 people were attending his class. There is only a midterm and a final graded in the whole class and hes a tough grader.

DO NOT TAKE THIS CLASS. All he does is lecture at you, there are no notes, no powerpoints, nothing but him rambling. To top it off this class is a midterm/ final class. And since you have nothing to study from except your own handwritten notes that end up being worthless anyway you're 100% set up for failure

I liked Johnson. He was a funny guy and made fun of everyone in class which I thought was great actually. It was more of a banter, not ill-mannered. He did make everything into a philosophy but that wasn't so bad considering most of the material was pretty dry. Actually graded things pretty fairly and was engaging with the whole class, not boring

IF YOU ARE LOOKING FOR AN EASY A GET OUT. only join class if you love philosophy and psychology. He will make you read primary texts as in the first hand works of Immanuel Kant Descartes and Freud. If this class fits your schedule change your schedule. Please do so and don't make the same mistake I did :/

He is sometimes funny, occasionally Ickes fun at people, just makes it so you feel uncomfortable speaking up or answering questions in class. My problem was with the material. He makes almost all of the class material philosophy. He goes fast and the material is confusing and irrelevant to world civ and your quizzed on specifics from the readings.

I actually kind of liked Johnson. Yeah, he pokes fun at students and can be kind of a jerk, but I thought he was kind of funny. His lectures can be confusing but if you have a good TA it's not much to worry about. If you attend lecture you're in good shape. David G was my TA for this course, and at first he seemed weird, but he's nice and a good TA

He goes off on such tandems, its difficult to figure out what to write in your notes. Quizzes are easy if you study, but the TA's make those... he just lectures two hours a week, good thing he doesn't write the exam... the TA's do the most work.

I don't know why he is teaching World Civ, we don't learn anything about World Civ. Boring, confusing unstructured class. Sometimes can be funny though.

This professor has a great sense of humor even against himself. He is extremely hard-working and a responsible scholar, and he has always available for questions after the class. He demands a lot of thinking and work--and that is good.

bad teacher. He demeans students whom he does not agree with-even when his own arguments are fallacious. His class is incredibly boring and grading is based on essays (bad if he doesnt agree w/you) Don't take this class if you're politically conservative-he will constantly verbally attack you.
