The first lecture I attended Freshman year. After stepping out of Moore, I thought all professors were as enthusiastic, bright spirited and passionate in what they taught. He has a great sense of humor and truly cares about his students. I regret not going to office hours, yet I will definitely take another class with him. Take him! Easy A as well.

If there were words to describe Teo! He likes you to show up to class but I wouldn't necessarily call it mandatory, but it gets to the point where you WANT to show up to class. He really is a storyteller and sucks you in in lecture to the point where you don't realize you learned anything until you write a paper. Incredible teacher and human being!

In short, their is nothing NOT to LOVE about Teo. A great professor, probably the best UCLA offers. Fun, engaging, incredibly knowledgeable. Teo is what I will miss most when my days at UCLA are done. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED!

Dr. Ruiz has been in National Geographic television for the show "TABOO" and was a Princeton University professor in his earlier years. His lectures are so moving, he will almost bring tears to your eyes. He incorporates history and life as a human being into great depth, touching the heart of a student who truly loves knowledge and learning.

He works really hard at appearing to be friendly, but he doesn't teach history. Rather, history is a platform for him to preach his message of hedonism and revolution. That's all he cares about and you'd better be able to write about it on his tests if you want a good grade.
