She is a very easy professor. She does give multiple writing assignments, and also gives homework every day, but the homework is not very hard, and the writing assignments are not very long. She is very flexible with homework, and I recommend going to her office hours. Great professor over all, and truly cares about her students.

She is very nice and friendly in class, but this does not show when she grades any of your essays. She is extremely harsh on grading without a proper explanation as to why. If she explained why she is marking you down so much, you could actually learn from it and improve, but she fails to give you this chance. Overall, hw is easy, essays are hard.

Dr. Toscano is a great teacher if you make the effort to engage in the material. The grammar is of course rather dry but the stories are fun and interesting. I went to office hours regularly to chat with her in hopes of improving my fluency and she was always very patient. Basically, you get out of the class what you put into it.

I had a hard time understanding her speech. Most of all, I really hate speaking in class but if you don't, she docks you for participation. I got a B instead of an A because of it. She will do what she can to help you if you go to her. Really nice lady.

Had her for 101A and B. She is from Spain, so if a word is used in Spain as opposed to the US, use the word from Spain. Very nit-picky in grading and grading is hard to understand. Does not explain the material well, so background Spanish knowledge helpful. A "B" is not too hard to get in the class.

Comment:
The course structure was ineffective. She lectures on grammatical points and then only chooses one out of many topics for the tests; there are 30 class meeting is a quarter (MWF) and she manages to test you on maybe four or five days worth of material. She's also very nit-picky. Would have been better to just study the book on own.

Nice lady. Somewhat traditional. Assignments are not too difficult and everything is outlined on the syllabus, so there are no surprises. She is very clear and wants to make sure that the students understand the lecture. She is kind of dull, nonetheless. Not too lively. The work is not that hard for upper-division Spanish.

She is extremely nice. The only problem I had was that she doesn't always mark all the mistakes on the rough draft that she'll mark on the final. So you have to go meet with her during office hours to go over the paper if you want to avoid getting marked down for those little mistakes.

Very nice lady... but don't be tardy, or she'll dock you!!! Very strict attendance policy. As far as grading, she lets you write your essay one time, corrects it, then returns it to you so you can turn it in a second time with corrections. Nice.
