Take this class with some other professor if possible. Can barely speak English (TA constantly apologized to the discussion class about this), and for a WORLD HISTORY class, there really wasn't much focus on the world, but how China related to the world. Boring lectures, as you can't understand what she's saying half the time. Did reasonably well in the class, only because the TA basically re-lectured the past week's material in discussion.

Professor lien, may have had english problems but her classes were easy just dealt with memorization. Those bad mouthing her must have received c's or below pts for not showing up to lecture. Her exams are based on her lectures. So go to class.

i was in the very first class she taught a couple years ago, and it was horrible due to her very, very bad english. yes, she does focus too much on china for a world history class.

I dont think she is a bad teacher, but her english speaking ability certainly make a student miserable. Learn cool things, she writes notes, and only if she can speak english well.
