One of my favorite professors. A lot of people say she is a harsh grader but if you actually do the work and pay attention her classes are super easy. She is very nice and willing to help any one out.

Comment:

Her classes are extremely demanding of your study time and memorization skills. Be prepared to go through hell on her exams due to her "two facts per work you can't find anywhere" requirement and her harsh grading style. My advice is to see her often on any papers you may write for her as well, IF you want a good grade.

She's really smart, but her tests are unfair. She expects you to memorize about 100 works of art including their artist, date, style, and 2 facts that she doesn't provide in class or does, but does not approve of. And second she takes off for spelling like no other. If i spelled something with an i instead on an e she marked it wrong!!!

Comment:

Watts is a great professor, truely knowledgeable and willing to help you outside of class. When I failed a term paper she allowed me to meet with her and review it so I could do a rewrite and graded it on her own time after it was completed. Cares about students and works with them.

I like her teaching style. However, she gives tests and etc. cumulative so know/study your stuff! If you mess up, she is not very forgiving...Still an interesting class, but a pain in the ass if you have a lot of other studying obligations.

If you study you will do well. Mostly memorization. She's very clear and makes it possible for even non-artsy people to understand complex artistic concepts. After taking the class, I can walk into an art museum, look at a painting, and tell you when it was painted, in what style, and who probably painted it, which i think is pretty cool

If you want a professor who knows how to teach well take this course. Not only is the material very interesting, the way she presents it is fabulous. I highly recommend her. Just be prepared to write a great paper with good grammer. She is a stickler on that. But she's pretty easy going most of the time and the tests are pretty easy too.

She treats an intro course like it is a 460 level. Accussed my of plagarising my paper on the Getty's Architecture. Failed me in the course. When I took the paper to the English Department the next semester, I was told the paper was FINE. If this woman doesn't like you, you will fail her class.
