No idea if this semester was just a fluke or he was having a bad time or something but he was the most unhelpful professor I've ever had. When I had issues with the online assignments that couldn't be fixed by the IT folks he basically said too bad, it's your fault, do better. For my technical issues. Don't take him if you can avoid it.

Easy summer online. 1 discussion post, two discussion replies, and 1 or 2 quizzes a week. 1 powerpoint presentation at the end. A midterm and final test, both of which are very easy. Just keep up with the tasks, but there's a pattern and the assignments are easy. Everything is based off the book, so DEFINITELY get the book.

I took this course as an 8 week summer course and it was the perfect choice. Dr. Carter lays out his class and quizzes/exams so that they aren't too difficult. He does stagger start and stop dates so you can't sit down in one day and finish all assignments, but that was the most difficult thing about this class. I would definitely take him again!

Very easy class - read the chapters, do the assignments, pass with an A. The majority of the class is weekly writing (maybe 30-60 minutes worth of work). The chapters in the textbook were short and easy to digest and the test questions came directly from the textbook. Final assignment was a very simple PowerPoint project.

I took this class online and it wasn't bad at all. You NEED your textbook for every assignment and quiz. Lots of reading. Fair grader and very understanding. Do all your work and you'll pass.

There was a lot of reading and writing in this class but if you do the assigned readings, you shouldn't have any problems making an "A" out of this class. I highly recommend this professor.

Was a nice guy for the most part, but instead of answering questions, just directs you to the textbook. Grades based off of your draft instead of the quality of the paper. I'm the kind of person to write a paper, then revise that edition. Got Ds on both my papers that he said looked great. Swears by "Global Revision." Would not recommend.

Took him online - miserable experience. Unclear instructions and he makes you spread out your work over the entire week which defeats the purpose of having the convenience of taking an online class. You can't just do your work and be done with it - you have to post every day at least 150 word responses. Very HARD research paper, harsh grader.

Horrible. Don't take him. He will tell you that your essay looks really good, then give you a D. He uses the Allyn & Bacon book like it is his bible. TAKE ANOTHER PROFESSOR.

His grading is ridiculous. I was actually told "Your first draft is too good, it will be hard for you to earn a good grade." I learned to succeed in his class, write a first draft, save it, and then rearrange everything, add typos, misspell words, take out ideas, and make things confusing. Undo it all for the final paper. Nice guy though!

Professor Carter is an excellent teacher. He provides you with all the tools you need to succeed; you just need to be willing to put in the effort. Really tremendous. If you want to learn, then he's the professor to pick! And, yes, revise your essays after a 1st draft and use online tutoring if you're taking his online class.

He had us do a lot of work from the book and a lot of journal entries, which made the class difficult. However, the essay assignments and stories we wrote were very easy to get a grasp of and get done. If you're a procrastinator, you probably should start getting work DONE if you want to pass this class. He recommends the ATTIC.

his online class consists of reading like a million pages a week and then writing a crapload of papers in addition to commenting on every single other person's discussions posted in class. this class would be fine to take if this were the only class you were taking the entire semester. he's actually a really nice guy in person though...

Great professor, highly recommended. Lots of work sometimes, because he grades more on revisions than ability. The ONLY way to do well is to heavily revise. I learned a great deal from his class, although I didn't realize it till later. What I've learned has helped me immensely in my profession, as well as other classes in school. Well worth it...

He is a very easy teacher as long as you do the work he gives you. He gives very few quizes. And he continuosly has you revise your essays before the final draft. When he grades the essay he mainly checks to see if there was a revision process. You will easily pass if you just do the homework.
