Excellent Professor, tough but fair. From what I've heard, he is by far and away in the department. One warning is that he grades on a curve so make sure to study hard! I would strongly recommend taking Abebe's class if you have a choice!

Comment:

If youre good at critical thinking, hes an amazing professor, hell give you a lot of scenarios but the tests wont go over exactly what he teaches you have to relate that to different situations. The tests were his only grades but he curved them heavy. If you show up to the lectures and read the book youll do fine.

I had to use Khan Academy to re-learn most of what he was saying. As a plus, he doesn't give much homework. One time I asked a question because I didn't hear him, and he ignored me. Another time students asked him for homework help, and he told them to read the book, instead of doing his job and teaching.

Terrible teacher! Nice guy but you wont learn anything. He curves every test although the tests are the hardest things you have ever seen. You will fail all the tests but with the curve you may get a C if you studied. Would not take him again!

If you are educated and like a class with just 3 tests and a final you will like this class. Abebe is a great guy and makes the class interesting, but sometimes the class lecture is tough. If struggling read the chapter that you are going over because it will be more clear. Also he curves the tests so that helps a lot. Take notes and you'll pass

This guy is an amazing professor. I had so much fun in his class. He grades on a curve and as long as you attend class and engage in discussion, its easy. I really enjoyed it. Reading the chapter is expected, as it should be. So set aside an extra hour per chapter.

Dont take him! he will not be helpful. all he does is talk about the powerpoint but when you recieve the test it wont match your notes. the powerpoints arent availble outside of class and he is not a great teacher or helper

Great teacher! Class can be boring if you aren't interested in Economics but aren't all that bad, but he grades all his tests on a huge curve and doesn't take attendance. Three tests and a final are the only grades taken, which isn't ideal but the curve is a lifesaver! take him for macro and micro! Very nice man!

Professor Abebe is an amazing professor! Your grade in this class depends on four tests, so I highly recommend going over your notes and reading the chapters in the book. He gives plenty of directions and is open to any type of clarification you may need on a particular part of the lecture. He LOVES what he does ! I definitely recommend taking him!

Never thought I would be interested in macroeconomics until I took this class. Phenomenal professor. He presents a challenge which is why many students say it's too hard, but it's because he truly wants his students to learn the material. He is always upbeat and his passion for econ shows. Show up to class & you will learn tons & do well on tests.

This was the best theory class I have ever had. Dr. Abebe was outstanding. He likes his micro and made the class very interesting. His lectures are out of this world. He knows how to capture students with his presentations. Attend class and enjoy his enthusiasm for econ.

I love Professor Abebe's style and methods. His classes are superb and I look forward to attending them. He is bright, well prepared and very pleasant. Wish he taught other econ courses as well
