Took French all through High School and Junior High and never had as much trouble as I did with her. She has favorites-- watch out- if u are not one u better drop the course or prepare for a D. I am not a D student- I have a 3.7 despite the D she gave me. So it can happen to anyone-- RUN!! Plus she is just mean and rude.

She's very enthusiastic and charming. However, you do have to really work in her class, as much of the work presented by her, may seem a bit unclear. She does at times lose patience, when students aren't grasping the language. It's a class you definitely have to work at to get an A. If your truly passionate about the French language. Take it.

I've been taking French since I was in 7th grade she has to be the worst instructor I've ever had. I went from an A to a D in one semester. She wouldn't see me when I went to her office and refused to go over tests with me. Totally unhelpful DO NOT TAKE HER

Take her class if you want to get a C and enter French 3 completely unprepared. Over 50% of the class failed every test. I'm not kidding. She saw no problem with this whatsoever. Take Lazar or Barth.

I went from an A- in French 1 to an F in French 2. Worst teacher in my three year history at Hofstra. I am sure she is a sweet lady but, Mdm. Terens has NO business teaching. She is deaf which means she can't hear you or ever herself which means you dont learn anything. DONT TAKE HER!!

If you were an A student in French I, prepare to fail. Doesn't listen or answer questions. Requires you to memorize trivial exercizes from the book. Deducts for minor spelling and grammar errors. Assigns work for chapters she hasn't taught. Becomes mad when you don't understand. DO NOT TAKE!!!

Nice lady but very unclear and unhelpful. In French 3, I basically reviewed most of the material myself over the homeworks. We did very little in class besides go over them and work on pronunciation. She's a bit senile, but very nice. I would recommend her.

didnt learn a solitary thing in class.tests included worksheets handed out in class but were still HARD.SEE HER DURING OFFICE OURS BEFRE A TEST - SHE WILL GO OVER EXACTLY WHATS ON IT!!i like her, despite senility/deafness, etc. GO TO OFFICE HOURS!!!!

Sweet old lady. Got and B w/out doing most work. She's not all there w/ memory. Taught the same lesson a number of times and had to be reminded by several students that they handed their work in already. No favorites! Tests are exactly worksheets. TAKE!

The easiest language teacher I've had at Hofstra. Not strict on homework. Not a big deal if you get something wrong as long as you try. If you're nice to her she'll be nice to you. Also, her tests come from worksheets that she gives us and goes over.
